No, I don't use triggers. I have a metal kick plate. I've been playing for about 8 or 9 years, but I haven't played much the last 2 years because I can't fit my drums in my apartment. But I jam on friends drums every once in a while.

i can honestly say that i have been playing drums for a short time, about 8 - 10 weeks and i dont practise so in realitve time about 6 and a half so y'know but then agian, in this time i have learned the basics, para-diddles and i think they are called astinatos or which is a kinda samba thing where you hit it harder but still keep the same tempo, all i have to learn is blast beats tho, teach me. My teacher says im a natural for the drums :)

@LewisJewis I have a metal kick plate as my beater pad. Its a danmar plate. I dont know if they make them anymore, but they are pretty cheap. I tune the head somewhat tight so I get a good punchy sound. With the plate on, it wont sound good for any other style than metal, but I don't fucking care about anything other than metal, so I just leave it on.

@LewisJewis I just played with the tunings until i found the sound I liked, and the reaction off the head that felt good. As far as the metal beaters, I'm not sure who has them, I'm not even sure if they make them anymore. You can search for them online to see- its a Danmar Double Metal Kick Pad.

@kishass93 I practice while I'm driving. Keep a pair of sticks in your car and just blast on your steering wheel. One hand at a time, of course. I don't want you killing anyone! And as for your feet, I used to practice with ankle weights on. I'm not entirely sure they benefited my speed, but they did strengthen the muscles involved, so my endurance improved.
