  • I should have clarified. The Lennon interview was from 1970 for Rolling Stone magazine.

  • There were a lot of moments when the Stones lifted things from the Beatles. The Beatles did "All You Need is Love" and the Stones did "We Love You" right after. The Beatles used a sitar on Norwegian Wood, the Stones did Paint it Black. As Tears Go By was similar to Yesterday. I'm Free lifted from 8 Days a Week (Hold me, love me versus Love me, hold me. Those lines were even the same melody). By the time Lennon said this, it was over. The Stones had found their sound and weren't copying anymore.

  • groso

  • wonder if anyone knows what that Lennon interview is or from? Musically, they really didn't copy, ideas, yes, like "their Satanic Majesties Request" album, cover, etc. Let it be, & Let It Bleed, maybe a retort to that title, but musically different, Stone much bluesier. Didn't Let it Be come out in 70 anyhow?

  • So if the Stones copied everything the beatles did I'm wondering which of the stones got in to bed with brian epstein!

  • pretty cool. Like the snibits from the Lennon interivew.

  • it's true. but the word has changed several times over to care.

  • The Stones are even better now!!!
