YOU ALL ARE AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE!!! I have a 12 yr old daughter who competes on a competitive cheer team. I see how hard these kids work in the gym to perfect their tumbling, stunting and dancing.

You have my respect- you make it looks so easy. It is such HARD work for the male bases and well as the fliers who have to stay sooo tight. You all give me goose bumps because your skills are so impressive. WOW!  My daughter's ultimate dream is to be a cheerleader at UK!

@jlbxo18 with all due respect to the opinion of others on this board, UK is looking for good all around cheerleaders - those who can tumble and stunt as well as those who are good students and are what UK is looking for. The best advice I can give you is find a way to start single base stunting.

@jlbxo18 Attend one of UK's clinics ( they have one in the fall and one in the spring) and that will give you a guage as to where you need to improve. All their practices are open as well as their tryouts, so go and observe. Keep working hard, if UK is not the place for you, there are others.

@jlbxo18 I've seen videos of Kentucky Cheerleaders who go into the program with not that much cheerleading experience and make the team.

It's potential that they are looking for. You've got the tumbling down, but just because you don't have the stunting, it doesn't mean you won't make it.

You will most likely be put on White Squad and then transfer to Blue if you get your skills up.

I think their uniforms are classier looking than most squads. It reminds me of the old and traditional cheer leading.

I think they're trying to prove that it's not just about girls in short skirts screaming; it's a hardcore sport and they've proven that.
