treat ear with 3 drops 2x a day with Tresaderm until it completely goes away even if it takes months ( giant rabbits 3-5 drops) - make sure the ear is clean and the drops go all the way down inside the ear if it is a bacteria infection or ear mites, Vet may put them on Baytril also could take months...
we had one and it all of the sudden laid on the cage floor, head tilted back, legs frantically kicking periodically and died moments later :( idk if it was head tilt or what...
I wish my rabbit was more responsive, he just lays there and anyone who sees him thinks hes dead, I have to go and feed him every 30-45 minutes and give him water every 25-30 minutes. I'm posed to take him to the vet on Monday as there are only 2 vets that will see rabbits and one doesn't have a doctor yet. I'm really scared and nervous that he wont make it to Monday.
Hi, my habbit has head tilt almost to this degree, she can do everything by herself, and is just a bit wobbly after she has had a few seizures, any tips or advice on how to speed up recovery ( if there is one ) ?
im getting almost siilve rabbit lol...with blue eyes hes so cute but he has a 45% head tilt...but i still can't wait to get him...his head used to be right on the floor like that poor thing its 45% and sometimes looks normal...good look with treatmentXD
our rabbit of 6 years has head tilt two days ago he cant walk by himself yet.. we put him in a cage for now til he gets better at walking. we have to hand feed him also. wont know whats wrong with him til next week.. :( he is the cute white rabbit in my video.
Get Panacure for both rabbits, treatment needed every 4 months for 9 days for healthy rabbit, Romeo will be a 3 week treatment. Steroids and antibiotics will also be needed for Romeo.
also buy a long tunnel for Romeo as Emmas lives in hers, they like smaller areas with this illness as it helps them not fall over. Let us know you you get on. Emma has been like this since May this year and still gets treatment but is now on last chance as drugs too harsh for vital organs.
Thank you for asking, He is doing so much better now, he can walk/hop around and eat without our help and back his old self other then the head is tilted, hope he will live few more years.
Aww thats great to hear. My rabbit has a severe head tilt, and they are switching his medication in a couple a days, and if that doesn't work, then the vets are suggesting to put him down, and I really don't want to do that because he is so healthy and is great, he just cant seem to walk yet and he is eating on his own too. Thats great to hear that your rabbit is doing better. There's some hope for my little one =)
No need to put him down if u can take care of him.. he just needs time to recover. Romeo also have severe head tilt and still flips somtime and walk in circles, he is getting better and the head seems to be higher then before, he have to stay in his own area (big box)with towels we give him becuase he can't use the litter with the other rabbit and we do have to clean his bottom sometime. just be patience and it dose take time your rabbit will be better.
Yeah thats what were doing. Right now he's at his hospital until his medicine is switched. They just keep telling me that if he doesn't improve, then we should consider putting him to sleep, and I refuse cause he is still full of life. I know he'll be fine, it just takes a lot of patience. Its good to hear that another bunny is going threw the same situation. I'll probably have more questions when we bring him back home. Thanks for responding and I'm glad your rabbit is better =)
I never saw head tilt that severe before....how is the she lately? My rabbit has a slight head tilt and Emma walks better than mine does! That's kinda weird.
