i was just like you when i was a kid young and curious about the astronomy i just wish i had a telescope as powerful as yours thank goddness im still focused on majoring in it and dont forget kid reach for the stars.
Very refreshing to see an intelligent and curious young person; you fall within a small percentage of the population, Jason. Nice telescope and very cool name. :)
nice video how much does a piece of equipment like that cost- I'm thinking about buying a cheap starter scope it's got 295 times magnification do you think this will do ok
hey mate. I'm from germany. What telescope would you recommend for a beginner like me. I live in the city but not central. so the sky is still pretty dark at night. I'm more interested in deep sky watching than planet watching even if i find this very interesting as well.
I got about 450 to spend.
I hoped you could give me some advise, since we have very few shops in my region that sell telescopes. Cheers.
hi, i have been studing space for 3 in a half years now.. i am now 12... and i love your telescop. the one thing im inpressed about is that I didint know you can see sateran at that timme. Thats preaty coll kid. good job! :D
We are ALL spoiled kids in the 1st world. Even the poorest kids in england are "spoiled" - in comparison to 90% of the 3rd world kids... So what?! What is better? Burnin your money by smoking, drinking, getting cancer (plus a therapy for 50k bucks even when it´s too late) - or enjoying your life, spending the money for long-lasting interesting things, buying your kids the instruments it is dreaming of?
I suggest you keep the cover on the scope while not in use, it would be a shame if your little sister accidentally dropped something heavy down to the mirror. But good vid kid
There r knobs on the back to focus?!?!?! HOLY SHIT BRO!!!! YOU JUST SAVE ME AND MY TELESCOPE!!!!! Nowni know how to focus it thank you so much. I'm 14 and a young amateur astronomer and somehow...you save me. Thank you brother. Oh an how did you record your telescope? Did you just put the camera lens on the telescope lens?
Hi, Nice telescope. I thought if you did not know of this FREE Software Regi Stax 5 go to GOOGLE and look it up. You look smart enought to use it :-) Clear Sky to you.
hey nice scope. I have a smaller version of the scope 6 inch. I would buy a larger version but i wouldnt be able to move it around.i also have a 130mm evostar refracter aswell. I only use the dob for mostly planetary views. I also do view some deep space clusters etc. good video btw. I wish when i was your age i had a 10inch dobsonian. but in the uk they are alot more expensive i think a 6 inch version is 300 pounds or aroun 600 dollars a 10 inch would be around 600 so around 1200 dollars.x2!

Back then, we saw the rings almost edge on, so it was pretty difficult to get a good view of them. This year, Saturn's rings are more tilted. Have you seen Saturn this year already? Definitely worth checking it out. Especially with a 10 inch telescope.
You cant see stars behind saturn because they are dimmer? are you stupid? you cant see them because the relative distance increase i.e the area between the stars relative to what you see increases so when you focus on saturn you are looking at a very very very small chunk of space and the stars become displaced.
@CutByAngels That's planetary tables and not the planesphere itself and the "first of the month" RA's will not help anyone pick out a planet to any usefulness. If you're such a beginner where you look up and not know you're looking at a planet and indeed which one these tables will not help you, they require other data inputs.
So I say again, planesphere's do not help you find planets. The tables might tell you roughly but I'll thank you again for your internet commando pedantism.
How do you people think he is clever? Just because he said some stuff about the relecting scope and the basic difference of a refractor which he didn't even explain. Hate this kid, you should have been given like a 4 inch refractor or something not that.
@DangerD205 I'm 15, nearly 16, and I love Astronomy!!! :D I love the sense of the unknown and what else man can find out there, its truly mind-bending :)
I just picked up the same scope last week! I currently only have the 25mm that came with it, but I will be soon getting a Zhumell 9mm planetary eye piece and a moon/glow filter. I had a 4" meade Newtonian as a kid and am getting back into this. I checked out Jupiter last night with the 25mm and could see banding. I am hoping to see a bit more with the 9. Please don't tell me that at this age you moved this thing around much by yourself. I am 30 and 6ft and have a hard enough time.
It's obvious you know a lot about astronomy and the design differences between refracting and reflecting scopes (and I'm sure catadioptric as well). Well done! Good job, buddy - keep it up and who knows, you can end up teaching astronomy at the college level or better yet, chief scientist at the JPL some day! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and wisdom :)
Awsome video. I just bought this exact same scope last month. I have seen star clusters, nebulas, and galaxies with it so far. Juipter looks GREAT right now. I missed Saturn, Mars, and Venus by about a week. They will be back again soon though.
Cool video dude.. What kind of eye piece are you using on that? 12 mm? or something else and a barlow lense? I have a GSO 10" dobson, kind of the same...
