Very nice idea to put this in piano form, thank you! I'd never heard the tune "Blaenwern" as we don't have that in hymnals in the US, and first thought it kind of dull, but the more I listened to it the better I liked it. I hope I can find some music for it. It's a nice addition to our commonly used "Hyfrydol" and "Love Divine" tunes. You played all of these pieces beautifully.
@JayyB Thank you very much for that. Dare I say it - I actually prefer the 'Love Divine' tune, but the Royal Wedding has certainly given a lift to Blaenwern here in UK!
@PandaEllysium Offhand I don't. You may be able to find an order of service somewhere on the internet - it was certainly published in the British newspapers at the time.
This is just great !!!!! Thanks for posting it, and for your help in getting the music !!! Love it all !!!! Dwight M , Kamloops, BC, Canada You know, I can't get over what a genius that Sir Parry must have been !!!!!!
Great, but I was hoping to hear Walton's 'Crown Imperial' but I guess it's not public domain, or maybe you didn't have the piano music? An abridged version was played at the wedding, inspired me to dust off the sheet music which I hadn't played for years. Not sure the piano version can match the pomp of the orchestral version anyway - lots of examples of that on youtube by the way.
kinda offensive though, I personally like the version of "Love Divine All Loves Excelling" played during the wedding ceremony... and it become my favorite of all hymns now, 2nd is Jerusalem though, well good video there...
Thanks so much for recording this almost complete "Music for the Royal Wedding Service" It would make a great CD, especially with the full version of the Widor Toccata & Parry's Processional Anthemn:) Greetings on this sunny Sunday 1st May & Warm Wishes - Denise
@Pianistiak It depends which piece you want. The pieces by Parry can be downloaded free from the ChoralWiki website, and I am sure you would be able to find the hymn tunes somewhere if you Google them.
Well, mr. Sear. a nice surprise! A very good selection, and again a nice gesture honnoring the wedding that was watched by the whole Planet ( sorry i spelt wrong).
@0707NicePlayer Thanks for that. It is of course quite possible that the beatification of Pope John Paul II today had even more viewers than the Royal Wedding. There were more people out on the streets of Rome to see that than there were on the streets of London for the wedding.
Thanks for this very nice gesture and uploading. I liked espec. the Hymn 1 "Guide me" etc. which I know from various choirs-versions, and the opening of Widor's toccata. Now it's circa. 10 minutes before the Royal wedding, which I'm going to see in TV. Best Wishes from us all.
Very nice music. I l;ove the way you play and how it sounds. You are an excellent pianist so please remain that way, Thank you for uploading and five stars.

@binglemybagel Thanks for that. Indeed, I don't have a piano score for 'Crown Imperial' - I might have included it if I had!

@0707NicePlayer Thank you! I am not sure if the whole planet watched it, but it certainly had massive TV coverage!
PSearPianist 10 months ago
@PSearPianist OK, i agree, but still, i confess, i could watch that at 90% of televisions i have acces to.
By the way, i think your cover of Vaughan Wiliiams' Greensleves is one of the best i ever heard, i like it very much!

I've got to say, I prefer the Wesley to the Stainer myself... I grew up singing it.

@eoghdes18 I think I like the Stainer because it is easy to sing. I am no fan of Blaenwern!
