Nice Video, that dedicated cycle lane type road thing towards the end looks awesome, never really seen anything like it here the UK. Whereabouts exactly are you filming?
It must be great living in such a cycling friendly city. Bike lanes everywhere and what appears to be an extensive network of bike paths. Where is this?
mmk considering you have a allez sport compact. im guessing you new to road cycling. and i belive any new road cyclers can't go that fast for the first few seasons.. nice try.. oh and btw whats the software you used to speed this vid up.
@lugee If I had to do it all over again, I'd get something with a more relaxed geometry. The Allez has a pretty short wheelbase, and for me at least, can get uncomfortable on long rides, or early on a cold morning. I would look at one of Specialized's endurance models.
interesting experiment. Did you speed up the video in your editing program or does your camera have the ability to shoot it like that? I think it would be much more watchable if you could build a shock absorbing "steady cam" mount for it. I have seen simple ideas for them online. What city and state are you in? Great bike travel infrastructure there!
Not many people know how to balance a bike. Some people live in apartments and may not be able to carry a tricycle upstairs if there are no bicycle racks for their apartment.
you'd be a retard to think that he averaged 60mph for 6 minutes on city roads while going to work

@brianmcguiness Fair enough! Thought you were claiming it was actual speed! Would be pretty scary if it was!

You don't need to look hard to see it's sped up, but just look at the car turning left at 2:16.
Why not just play it at normal speed instead of trying to make stuff up. Odd!

That would mean he's riding at 60 miles an hour.

Wow... you have a bike lane all the way. Which city do you live?

@lugee sometimes 2-3 hours, sometimes right off the bat. Going to get refit soon, so that could solve it, but who knows...

@brianmcguiness Thanks for the fast response - how long do you usually ride before it gets uncomfortable?

Takes 15-20 minutes depending on the route I take and traffic light timing. Good luck!

Those bike lanes are AMAZING! With infrastructure like that I would have expected way more cyclists on that route.
Great video.

I'm very interested to see how you have your handlebar camera mount set up... maybe a video showing it? haha.

At first, I thought I knew where you lived - silicon valley, near 101 and Java drive, but nope.

I envy your city's bike paths.

My office is 3mi away if I take the direct route, but this way is much more enjoyable. It take a little more than 20 minutes at 15ish MPH.
Thanks.

that's really awesome! good for you man, why can't the whole world do this for a chance?
I've been commuting by bike for about 2 years now- luckily my daily commute is only 3 miles, not 6.
It must be nice having all those bike lanes in your town! :D How long does that commute take you?
