Air Force One probably has no more protection than any other AF combat aircraft against nuclear blast; however, its electronics have been (quite expensively) shielded against EMP.
dont know bout the nuclear blast deal 747s are tough but not that tough and wheres the extra protection for the 747 it looks like a regular jumbo-jet :/
@OlderG0ds i understand it probably does have a crap load of protection but i mean name one plane that flies between 30000- 40000 feet that could survive the nuclear shockwave from directly below? And again 747s are tough but even air force is probable not that tough.
Why do Sky News 'newsreaders' treat you as though you are only six years old? Condecending, make-up wridden (and that's the men) and wholly unprofessional I feel! Thank Zeus for the BBC! I truly admire Obama though! Appreciate the download. Best wishes.
@nicknag321 Obama couldnt be a worse president than Bush if he tried. And on Bush's intelligence have you ever listened to him speak, even with his written speaches he still couldnt read half of them which is one of the many many reasons Bush was considered a joke across the world.
Obama will prove a worse president than Bush, less intelligent than bush for a start, listen to him without his written for him speeches, he's a liability!
i saw dat land with my dad!!!! its was sooooooooooo cool and big!also we saw him fly off in marine1! and on the way home we was driving behind the onterage (all his crew or wotever u wanna call em) it was one of da best days i ever had! also i might upload a video of it on my utube channel!
Interestingly enough, there is also another plane that is very similar to this one called Air Force Two that the Vice President uses (it has most of the same trimmings.)
Air Force Two is normally a B757-200, of which there are 4, also used by the SecState & SecDef. The 757s are also used sometimes as AF1 on shorter flights. Bush flew them often, and Obama's first flight aboard AF1 was a 757. Sometimes AF1 is a G550 in similar markings, since AF1 or AF2 or callsigns rather than actual planes. Or, VP Cheney used one of the AF1 747s as "Air Force Two" on an extended Mideast Tour around 2003.
But yes, the "Air Force One" we think of are these two identical 747s.
President must fly with TU-154U XD

@AirlinePilot124 It's details are classified obviously. But I have no problem believing a lot of protection is built into it.

If Gordon Brown had all that security the British people will just moan saying, "I pay for that out of my taxes" The British are pathetic.
