Gad, what a mess. Another example of people NOT paying attention to the full-time job of driving. I am glad that the driver was not seriously hurt or worse. However, to be fair, the CHP should have been on the scene and setting out flares prior to the arrival of the SDFD.
@MCDCBPAUX The video said it was parked on the side of the road though. I don't see anything wrong with having a drink or two as long as they aren't in uniform at the time. I can understand if they had a drink prior to the call if they were a volunteer dept. because you never know when your gonna get a call. I'd hope in either case that they would be mindful of that possibilty and keep any drinking to a minimum so they aren't driving a fire engine when their reaction time is reduced,
volvo is safe than any other car in this planet and look a this is the the 960 it was design in 1993 for 1994 and the production stop in 99... Imagine the safe of the new volvos... is amazing.
This is a really god car no every car like chevy cavalier whyl be the safe as this volvo as what I can see it is all well maybe some injures but nothing to kill somebody or at least in this car I will buy one of those lexury and safe. if you don´t belive me search here for a chevy cavalier crash test and you whill see how you whill die in one of those YOU CAN BUY AN OTHER CAR BUT NOT AN OTHER LIFE think about it.
@luvaislinn101 I swear, if she wasn't in a Volvo she probably suffered a whole lot more injuries. A newer model Honda Accord crash that same way and the car look horrendous! The Volvo kept more of its shape compared to the newer model Honda Accord. I'm glad your friend is okay <3
First of all I hope the people in the Volvoe are/will be OK. This is just one more example that we must be aware when operating on highways. Truck placement and tactics, not those silly clown car stripes on the back of the engine, will keep us safe. Do we need to consider making a call like this a two unit assignment, one for the fire attack and the other for lane protection?
There's nothing wrong with reflective markings ("clown stripes" as you call it) - they can contribute to accident prevention as well as the things you named.
volvo = really safe car

I heard the firemen were drinking when the call went out, there's no room for that kind of clowning around when lives are at stake.

@MegaSdam You shouldn't call her a dumbass until you know the facts of the accident. Its possibly the engine stopped suddenly or slowed.
