  • The ipad is a jack of all trades. The lemur is a master of one. Fuck Apple.

  • you can plug in the jazzmutant lemur in FL studio, right?

  • Рахманинов?... не, не слышал.

    )))))))))))))

  • that i actually ever need an apple product for some reason. id steal it if i needded it that bad rather than gice apple my money. cokes the same way, theyve been a terrorist organization for deacdes now 4 that i know of. dont believe me? look up their involvement in assasination of union organizers. it got so bad a bunch of people came up from south america just a little while ago to ask us to make the coca cola company please stop killing people

  • you know why im going to buy one? cuz fuck apple right in its fucking asshole, motherfuckers aint getting none of my money ever/.. holy god i hate fucking corporations and helll i work for one , but who the fuck doesnt????????? anymore, point is they just made a shrewd business move, its what i would do in the same type of situation,in the face of apple its best to just take a more bipartisan approach to not getting somehow fucked by them cuz thats what they do. iif i was in such dire need ,

  • you can do exact the same things on a Ipad wich is much much much much cheaper than the lemur. Lemur is a good thing but way too overpriced

  • @iluvtrance69 Since it's MIDI...you can...i don't know if you can automatize but i think it all depends on software. There is software by Korg that you can download for free that let's you ontrol any parameter on the thing...maybe one could get it to work with another DAW or something like it.And yes it's a Guitar Signal Proccesor.

  • @iluvtrance69 And regardless of that...i still think the lemur is pretty handy, basically you can control anything from that thing. Now...i don't own one and for the price i won't for a long time, but i i had a single tool to control the effects on my AX3000G route, route sound from Live, Reaktor, Reason, etc, in wichever way i want, and you can also do lightning with this. yes it would be a waste if i was using audacity to record a riff and then loop it over and over again.

  • @iluvtrance69 Oh really? xD iwas trolling you back... Mmm...actually im going to make a PC with i7, i don't know how much i'm going to spend on RAM, and will spend at most a 100 on video, i3, i5's and i7's can manage video on their own. On the interface...M Audio is so fucking overrated, i'll go for a phonic multitrack multimix board and a good preamp for the mics i have. I would go for something else but it won't be redituable...or however you spell that.

  • @iluvtrance69 Ahhh...trolling...! I get it now :3 i also like to do that from time to time. anyways what a great piece of gear that pretty much lets you control everything on your DAW and that you can program freely to fir your needs...it also has an independent GPU and processor so it won't stress your PC or whatever you are controlling. I'm sick of having noise in my recordings and having to turn off my monitor. Or i could get a $900 pc and then buying a lot of interfaces one by one.

  • @iluvtrance69 since that stupid comment have you ever checked all the stuff the Lemur can do?

  • lol@using an ipod touch. if you were playing live somewhere and someone else had one and it was set up for MIDI control, then they could just log onto the same wifi network you're on and start messing with your set!

  • does anyone know anything about this touch pad...im building one myself for school and im using a projector but i dont know how it can compact with the program...any help is appreciated!!!

  • @jonaimmigrant Jazzmutant Leamurs and Dexters use there own proprietary software, so trying to get it to work with anything else will be next to impossible.

  • haha, I love the people who compare this seriously with an ipod touch. this thing is way more powerful and flexible than an ipod touch

  • looking for glitch thing to use- any hardware/software? i'm a novice only used audacity & mixcraft- struggled with flstudio- FAILED with cubase & reason tutorial

  • @djoxygenmusic i don't really use glitch effects much but apparently dblue is good...

  • hmmm so i have 2 options. a touch screen for a big chunk of money, Or a keyboard, a mouse, and some knobs for cheap...

  • @Chrispydubstep

look up touchOSC in the appstore.....tell me again.....the ipod touch is not a midi controller.....cuz its moving my effect on traktor.

  • wow i want that kind of stuff :D and i mean analog not dblue glitch vst :D

  • IPAD $500 !!!

    IPod Touch $50 ?

Can do Almost everything the Lemur and Dexter can do !

even multi touch . WITH TILT Sensors ...

    Plus Video , Games , Songs , Internet .

    in 2010 who is gonna buy a a lemur for $2000 ?

    thats 4 Ipads

    FOUR !

  • @ThaJSpraya

What is wrong with these apple fan boys

ipads are really, really, terrible. Same with any other Mac, they are computers for people who don't know how to use PC's!

  • @ThaJSpraya The Ipad/touch wasn't created to be a programmable midi controller.

  • how can you compare an itouch or ipad to this?! neither are midi controllers....... the ipad doesnt even have a USB or firewire plug, it kinda sucks@ThaJSpraya

  • @cristangelomusic if you get the right apps and connect your wifi as a way to pass midi....then YES!!!! the Ipod Touch Iphone and Ipad will all run touchOSC...

however it is up to the user to "program" the layout to suit their own style

  • yea true you can do that, but running midi over wifi could be a disaster man. as a hobby it would be cool but deffinanlty not in a club@ApexDubb

  • you can upload any sounds you want, hes just chosen a lame techno 80's video game style haha

  • this is not for noobs... i dont know why people would think that..

i would love to use one of these cos there awesome

  • Just waiting for this guy to write something original on this...and not just use it as a performance device, but to create music like...say, Brazilian of Jazz from scratch..built up not from loops but from laying down the notes...then I'll be impressed by this. Gotta like the Miami-South Beach colors tho...but these sounds and the look make me think of video games

  • @sclogse1 This isn't an instrument to make music on. This is more of a controller that controls music on your Ableton Live/Reason 4/etc. Rig. It's more for mixing purposes. If you want to watch Jazz being made, go watch a video about Jazz. The name of the company that made this is JazzMutant, and has nothing to do with Jazz.

  • @aliishaq11 It isn't more for mixing unless you are dumb enough to spend $2000 on it just for mixing, it is anything you can program it to be. You can make it a midi piano with the proper setup. This midi controller is far to complex to just say its main purpose is for mixing.

After watching 30mins of the videos on YouTube I am looking at my next paycheck to purchase it. Just hope they have a good warranty system.

    Enjoy

  • i wonder how responsive tht one is ive always had problem with touch screens always end up in the wall

  • Nice shiny controller!

  • An iPod touch isn't a midi controller :s

  • not yet (?)

  • it can controll using a app called touch osc.

  • it can be. but this is no apple product. this is a lemur.

  • @ChrispyDubstep But an ipad can be :P

  • Comment removed

  • it doesnt use wifi it uses midi thru the ethernet port.

  • I think he means thru like OSC somthing like that cuase i do that with OSC on my iphone

  • @BuggelyToons Really ? Ipod touch can do a lot more things than this thing can any day of the week

  • can do more then one touh at a time?

  • yeah. but you don't need one of these any more. just get an ipod touch. this thing is not much use!

  • wat do u mean is there somthing like this for the ipod touch?

  • @michaelforrest ur wrong.

  • @michaelforrest Original is always better than imitation. I can tell you for sure.and the app/program on IPAD for this don't work in PC. I mean I'm pretty sure some use PC want it for nuendo or cubase.

  • @michaelforrest Are you implying that an ipod touch is more useful than a JM Lemur?

  • @Adeptmind The iPad has put the lemur out of business

  • @HumpDayOnDemand Considering ipads can't be directly plugged in and have to be used via wi fi. I have a hard time believing any real professionals making a decent amount per performance would use an ipad. It's just not reliable enough. They get laggy, and the wi fi can be really spotty and slow

  • @Adeptmind Well maybe it isn't a commonly used tool, but it is true that the lemur company has been put out of business, the same program provided on the ipad is cheaper all together, and i know a number of professionals working in chicago that use it as both a performance tool and a midi controller. I don't personally have one but i have used the midi display and it works pretty well for small based setups.

  • @HumpDayOnDemand That's because it's chicago.. they are like 15 years behind on everything that has to do with music. I.E. chicago house hahaha jk .. well not really

  • thats what multitouch means

  • naw I mean, can i controle more then one slider at a time?

  • Nah, that's post-everything-DMT-neu-asscrack-hause! ...and it smokes big hairy balls at dawn.

  • some people have money, and no talent, some have talent and no money. I wonder what the case is here?

  • no no bro... this thing is a bad ass studio tool ! It is just a controller it makes no sounds.

I would rather get some real gear for $4000

maybe a Moog or the new John Bowen monster analog synthesizer ....

  • you are the retard this is less and not making any sound its not even sending midi data. Its sending OSC through a lan cable to a computer thats converting it to midi data into a vst synth/sampler which is making what ever sound you want it could be samples of your favorite music for all you know then its going through a free effects plugin called dblue glitch that is used by alot of top electronic artists in prodution and live.

    dont be a fool

    brian

  • that sounds shit

  • not the sound of that stuff only the "music" lol :D

  • evident from the last 2 posts: love it or hate it.

  • yeah yeah. Now go and program it from scratch. Talk about putting a monkey in a room with a type writer. kinda boring really

  • hell yeah! db_glictch is one of my favorite vst's!

  • now that I look at this video again though,at least it's been modified and the touch screen makes it seem alot more fun, I'll give it that.

  • That's not a softwarre, but a hardware, it costs around 4,000 bucks

  • wrong, that's a software (DBlue Glitch = VST) running on a JazzMutant (Hardware Midi Controller, with Touchscreen)

  • Yeah I wonder how a hardware with no software on it would be able to do anything... Not very bright, are you...

  • If you search it on jazzmutant's webpage, you'll see that the hardware comes already with a software, and the only thing you have to make is to configure the interface... What I was saying is that you can't have the jazzmutant software to be runed with other thing but the midi controler

  • I see...

  • Este funcionara en las laptops que saldran esas pantallas tactiles?.

  • where can I find this program ?? thx

  • if used in moderation Dblue Glitch is mean

  • moderation, being the key word here

too many clueless amateurs letting it completely define their sound. its annoying sometimes.

  • Agreed. VERY annoying.

  • u can make graphics and ur own faders and knobs inside lemur? i ve heard they provide u with the "workflow optimized interface editor".

is this what u ve used to make this patch for GLITCH? or u have used 3rd party applications like Maxmsp? Please let me know cauz i am about to get one for sure if u can optimize it ur own easily using its own editor... thanx in advance

  • i always thought this plugin was fickle, and not really that controlled

  • i still love it though

    how about the virus's atomizer?

  • DBlue Glitch on fat groove agent is the best

  • Consumerism is for sheep. Let them be sheep.

People that know better won't jump at something just because they package it and give it a name.

Thanks for the heads up on the ebay.

  • randomized.

    this is antimusic

  • No you can't Lemur is multitouch w/ custom user designed interfaces regular touch screens arn't designed to be used that way.

  • Which version of dblue glitch is this?

  • nice.. some rhythm needed... :|

  • I wanna one on those U_U

    or two

  • Dblue is epic :)

  • What? This doesn't look like the dblue glitch ui :o

  • i agree, maybe guy made his own control panel?

  • cool touch screen. thing is, this could work in a completely different way from a midi interface with a bunch of knobs. you could use it to draw on a 2d plane. or ya know, lotsa stuff.

  • yeah that was my next step ;)

if you look closely the knobs are actually pretty rubbish.

  • I enjoyed this plugin, but i never found it very applicable in my music

  • Brilliant man!

Dblue glitch is superb, I love it. Stick it on all my tracks,

I reckon you use this for live play?

  • taka + mang i think you guys missed the point.....

  • i don't think it sounds very good.

  • get your ears checked!

  • i dont think that the touchscreen makes the sound

  • yep, basicly you plug this jazzmutant into a PC/Laptop begging the question: Surely you get more control just using the Laptop itself? Some people like to use the Jazzmutants live though I guess.

  • of course you get more controll because its multitouch and you have 10 fingers an only one mousearrow ... thats the point of this device, and i meant to takachiado that the lemur dont makes any sound its like a midi master keyboard ...

  • I'd love to try one out but I'm not convinced yet it will be better than the far cheaper control surface I already have. This wasn't a critism directed at yourself.

  • yeah agree ... it cant be better than an actual interface where you have real knobs instead of touchscreen interface ... i think the lemur lies between working with mouse and display and working with a real control interface

  • It won't give you more control. But I think because you can have a totally different screen for each plug/program it makes things visually clearer...and it certainly looks fun.

  • sampling don cab?

  • sampling myself ;) (drums from "How You See Me" on Broken Into Tumbolia available from my website -->)

  • Brilliant! Some next gen shit right there. <3 me some dblueglitch

  • WOW

  • Very cool! Thanks!

  • c'est toujours pareil: peu importe le support sur lequel on travaille du violon a ce jouet electronique ce qui est important c'est le f***ikng résultat...

  • "it's not the medium in which we work that is important, it is the f**cking result"

What's your point? You don't like music technology geeks?

I do try not to get too obsessed with new versions of software and new technology, but I genuinely thought this bit of kit solved a long standing problem with music software when I bought it (turned out not to, but hey..)

  • Music has always been bound with technology though. Bach couldn't have composed all his stuff if pianos that stayed in tune did not yet exist. All music instruments require some level of craft to create. The technology matters to a large extent (try composing a piece if your music software keeps crashing, for example), but I agree, it is important not to get carried away with this and lose focus on what you're trying to achieve.

  • "A bad workman blames his tools". But a good workman can make better stuff with better tools.

If you want see results, go to my website (linked in the description)

  • what plugin is this you've hooked the lemur up to? have you got the template available on the jazzmutant website?

    wicked shit.

  • the plugin is dblue glitch. was quite involved. I have since sold the Lemur and I'm not sure if I can still log on to the jazzmutant website so now I feel a bit guilty about not sharing when I could've... I will try to find time to sort this out.

  • oh well. nice work though. if you cant log on i can upload it on your behalf.

  • If I may inquire, why did you sell this bad ass thing?

  • because to use it, you have to be looking at it, but you can't get enough information onto the screen to be able to see what you're doing without cross-referencing with the computer screen. If it just displayed what was in my sequencer it would be great, but unfortunately it can only show abstract representations of an incomplete model of what's on my screen.

Unfortunate, but there's no way around it.

  • this is sci-fi

  • sounds like the end of great destroyer by nine inch nails

  • i prefer getting my hands on knobs ...

  • me too.

  • Freaking awesome. :)

  • you're just being goofy.

  • Awesome! I had no idea you could create custom GUIs like this on the Lemur. Glad you're enjoying my plugin :)

  • I'd be enjoying it more if there was a flipping MAC VERSION!!!! :)

  • yeah.. I'd second that. Please make a MAC version.. its all intel now. So I assume that recompiling to Mactel binary shouldnt be too bad..

    anyway LOVE your PC plugin

  • Kieran will kill us if we don't leave him alone judging by the support page on his website...

I wonder what it would take to change his mind. This is the best plugin ever created, in my view.

  • There is Effectrix by Sugar Bytes for mac users.

  • perfect! how long has this been around?

  • cool as fuck

  • I plan to.. still getting it set up properly so far though.

  • wow can you post more.
