  • 1 person has no clue

  • Move over Hendrix DR Kachamba is here, he was awesome, but unfortunately alcoholism did him in. I remember him stopping by our house in Malawi. He could play his guitar for a shot of "Jangala" AKA moonshine!

  • Beautiful!

  • Phenomenal!

  • why does this sound like ,english beats "best friend"

  • I know I am responding kinda late, but...It is because, African music inspired the music of the west, During slavery, Africans played a stringed instument along with the drums, they carved them though.

  • i teach music ,it just sounded exactly the same as " best friend " by the english beat too close infact

  • You meant to say the the english beat sounds the same as daniel ,not the other way around right?.

  • well considering the beat were out in the 80's and dan is 1967 yes i hope so ,goes to show nothing in music is fresh

  • It's a simple explanation: the Beat said in an interview that they listened to African music for inspiration. This song is an obvious starting point for "Best Friend".

Many British pop musicians looked to Africa for inspiration in the 70s-80s. The Police are another notable example: much of their sound spirals out from African guitar and rhythm. So it's good that with YouTube we can now see and hear these bands' inspirations and be inspired, too.

  • ...but not to the point of theft.

"Inspiration" means just that -- to create your own sound from what you absorb around you. "Theft" is when there's no creation, only re-creation.

  • i know a couple of the beat i will ask them when i see them all the same its all good music ,and there are only 8 notes in music as i was told when i was learnig ..nie one

  • Daniel plays beautifully!!!!

  • this is great
