  • Thank god it wasnt a BNSF or a CSX train

  • I heard of raining on someones parade, but trainning on a parade? thats gotta suck!

  • @TheDarthEmperor It happens every year!!!

  • This almost happened in my town the other day.

  • I believe there is a big difference in the horn sound strength compared to European trains. Here the European ones are much louder and you definitely can't stay close to the loco when it pulls the horn. They're so loud that they use them only for emergency. In fact, I think you can wake up half a town by blowing the horn at night time.

  • @thydusk666 I live right across the street from a freight line. 12 trains a day. 60 mph and by 2 crossings. They vibrate the house and blow the horn. After a few months living by this you get used to it and they don't bother you. I don't wake up when they go thru anymore.

  • @Millenniumforce This summer I was at a sleepaway camp where the dormitory backed up to the train tracks. The first two nights I woke up whenever a train came through, after that, I stayed asleep

  • @MrTransman99 Yes people don't understand. You get used to it after awhile.

  • @Millenniumforce I used to live right next to Old Cummer GO station... the GO trains, ONR, CN, and the Canadian always passed by me. At least I can sleep... no trains coming by during midnight.

  • @Millenniumforce I live by an NS line that sees about 60 trains a day and i fall asleep to them. When im at my G/fs where there are no trains at all (she lives in a county that no longer has any railroads.) i find it harder to fall asleep.

  • @TheZeke1974 Damn I want to live where you live. I only have about 12 trains a day

  • @Millenniumforce Been here all of my life. I live 300' from the tracks...

  • @TheZeke1974 Been here 15 years. also live about 300' from track.

  • @thydusk666 The horn strength in controlled by the engineer. In scenarios like this where the grade is secured by railroad personnel, then there is no reason for the engineer to blast and annoy the parade folks. Watch a video of a car cutting close in front of a train and you will get a sense of the full strength of the horn.

Tell me Is this horn not louder than Euro Trains

  • Troll train.

  • Only real parades happen in New Orleans LOL

  • 0:57 man almost fell and tripped.

  • oooh i hate it when that happens

  • I always hear a bell ringing on these trains but never see one. Is the bell sound a recorded sound or is there an actual bell?

  • @fhood Good Question!!! Know I want to know and I am going to find out!! I am going to ask an Amtrak engineer.

  • @fhood: There is a real bell on all locomotives. Most of the time, you have to know where to look to actually see them. They're usually located under the locomotive near one of the wheels on one side. You'd have to get up close to a locomotive while it's at a station to find it.

  • @fhood yes there is an actual bell, bus it is usually mounted below the engine. On newer locomotives the bells are crappy electronic ones.

  • @fhood It depends on the loco, on this particular train the bell is electronic and is called a graham white ebell. Google it to find out what it looks like. It is somewhere near the bottom of the train in the front. Some of these amtrak locos do have a real bell but it is located underneath the train.

  • @fhood It can be both. This locomotive had a real mechanical bell. It's made by GE... not just the bell, but the whole damn locomotive. Some bell are just recordings, e-bells. Search it, locomotive bells. You'll find loads of private collectors that got their hands on them.

  • @fhood It is usually the actual bell on the train.

  • @fhood The bell on this locomotive is a pneumatic bell. The P40s and P42 have their bells out of sight below the frame. There are locomotives with "E-Bells". You can here a very distinct difference between pneumatic and electronic.

  • @fhood Its called an E-bell.An electronic bell.Its not there.Its just a soundbox

  • @fhood The bell on most diesels is located under the walkway/carbody behind the front truck.

  • The baggage car is in the back because they reverse the consist in ever summer/ winter

  • ooo there in the USA peolple look's very responsable, very good for this!!!!

  • I wonder why they put the baggage car on the rear of the train.

  • @CoastStarlight11 It's not always on the back. It's usually in the front and a coach car is in the back

  • @Millenniumforce That's why it caught my attenion because it should have been behind the engines and not at the far back end of the train. Every so often I see that happen and I have no idea why. I live near Reno, Nevada and every so often when the California Zephyr comes to town the baggage car may be on the absolute rear end of the train but normally it should be directly behind the engines. Same thing happens with the Coast Starlight. I wonder if it was a bad order car.

  • ha! Now it is time for our guest of the day................ AMTRAK!!! COME ON DOWN. The parade looked good, but Amtrak did not have any thing to give out! o well

  • @train1516 LOL LOL LOL

  • @Millenniumforce That was the Silver Star right?

  • @trainwatcher17 Yes It Was

  • imagine how chaotic it would be if there was no railroad employees to stop the parade and the parade was still going over the tracks, especially if the amtrak train was at track speed.

  • @UP9390 There wold be alot of ground beef!!! Time to get the hamburger helper!! LOL

  • @UP9390 That would have been cool. :-)

Great video, although I was disappointed to see the train going so slow. The parade was going faster ;-)

  • if i was him id blow that horn as loud as i can just to piss people off

  • @nickelback303 LOL!!! I Think The Same!! That Would Have Been Awsome!!!

  • @Millenniumforce yeah it would hey have you seen my vidoes i have 1 shave and a hiarcut but on my camera i have 16 lol

  • was the Amtrak train running slowly the whole time, or just slowed for the parade?

  • @jfsa380 Speed limit thru town is 40 MPH but I think it was going slower due to speed restrictions because so many children and people around te tracks

  • You know what would have been even better? An older Amtrak Train and Operation life saver. people by the track would had a bonus :D

  • Nice!!!

  • DAMN i wish it was going fast tee hee!!

  • Parade got OWNED by the Train...

  • @TheDylanJoyce i love trains

  • @GMSamuelRhine N trains love you back! haha!

  • R O T F L M A O , Who better to cut a Parade in Half , An Amtrak Train , Right On ! Just be glad it was not a freight train with 3 or 4 locos and say , maybe 65 to 90 freight cars . The R B B C Train would have been a nice "Show Up" if Amtrak was not around ! Kinda teaches these folks a lesson not to route their parade where train tracks exist , agree ?

  • Once again, the train wins...

  • Epic win for the train!

  • I know this is kind of irrelevant, but I always found it odd that crossing bells in the U.S. shut off after the gates are lowered. Here in Canada, the crossing bells always stay on even after the gates are lowered. I always thought it was safer for them to stay on.

  • @BrandonMayerMusic Here in California, they stay on til the end.

  • @BrandonMayerMusic yeah they stay on here in oregon

  • Amtrack trained on your parade.

  • That parade looked sad, It seemed the train was more entertaining.

  • @DaaYay LOL

  • @DaaYay definitely

  • does amtrak know about this parade?

  • @kmohan0917 Yes but they can't hold up amtrak. It is on a time schedule to New York with paying passengers

  • @Millenniumforce i was just concerned whether the engineer knew about all those people around the tracks. It's a good thing they are aware.

  • @kmohan0917 Yes CSX was at the parade at all the crossings to guard the parade saftley

  • They could of just stop the train.

  • @MachintoshCJ They can't stop Amtrak or a parade that's 1 hour long. Amtrak has a schedule with passengers that pay high money to get to there destinations on time and trains have the right of way.

  • @MachintoshCJ heck you think they would? The only way anyone can delay an Amtrak train is by sending 20 BNSF trains. That happens pretty much almost everyday for the Empire Builder.(Portland to Spokane tracks)

  • @MachintoshCJ and not to mention, Amtrak has over 75 trains atleast running everyday. You think they will stop one train? Yeah, they sure could but get upset, but what if there are about 20 other trains that need to stop, eh? Like the Empire Builder thanks to the Union Pacific and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroads. The railroad geting clogged up on the Seattle and Tacoma tracks for the Amtrak Cascades. Maybe even Amtrak's fastest train, Acela, has to stop because of a jam or two.

  • @MachintoshCJ - Actually Plant City, in general, is a railfan haven and its history was strongly influenced by the railroads. Compared to many other towns, many of Plant City's residents and some of the city leaders have a welcoming attitude towards the railroad industry as there are a number of industrial customers in that region served by CSX. That's a favorable economic impact.

  • this happened where i live on the 4th of july when Amtrak #7 the Empire Builder cut the parade in half

  • At least they work with the railroad for it. Back in the mid 90's when i worked a job carrying railroad crews i was told of a time where a town had a fourth of July parade/festival and ASSUMED the railroad was not going to run because of the holiday. They sadly found out the hard way when a train came through and killed/injured not sure how many people. Happened in Georgia on NS if anyone is able to check.

  • Sweet catch. I only saw this happen once where I railfan.

  • @ohiofoamer7612 Actually I knew this was going to happen. The parade is always at noon and the the silver star number 92 goes thru around 12:15 and back thru at 1:15. Every year it happens. Except freight trains hey hold in position until the parade is done. Amtrak has a schedule and they can't hold that train.

  • Great video! It's kind of funny it cut it in half

  • @metraF40PH163 It Happens Every Year...

  • Aww.. The P42 wanted to be part of the parade!!! lol

  • It's a risk parades take when the routes goes over active railroad tracks! At least they have safety officers there to stop the parade even before the gates come down.

  • lol 0:54

  • ...I was Afraid of that.

  • The Parade was located at Plant City FL, at the Collins St Crossing, Just off The Palmer St Crossing, Right?

  • @shumacwilder Yes It Is...

  • A few years ago in Pennsylvainia we wee driving through a little town on a main highway on the 4th of July. They would not let anybody across their parade for 5 hours, and there were no porta-potties. We do take our parades seriously, yes we do!

  • Nice Video well done.

  • @mjbr1010 Thanks

  • Ladies and Gentalmen, and now here's the Amtrack portion of the parade. Thank goodness it's not CTX.

  • @SomeKidd777 *gentleman

    *Amtrak

    *CSX

  • When are u going back to the cheetah hunt updates?
