Yes you need a license. There is a bait and tackle shop at the pillar point harbor that sells them. I also found a ton of cheap snare at Sports Mart just a few days ago.
i go out on the north side and walk way around on the outer wall. i use a normal net though, not one of those little guys. i'm glad to see they work as advertised.
We go out by the south jetty and usually go home with one crab!!! Catching the crab is the easy part. Not knocking it off on the rock sea wall is where the challenge lies.

@10footjesus those snares rock! i tied some extra snares on mine with fishing line and they can't get away hahahaha

@10footjesus becareful as you are only allowed 6 snares per cage. The lady at the HMB sportfishing said so and I verify it with the warden.

Is that the south or north jetty? The one by the RVs is the south, the one thats hard to reach is the north.
