  • thanks alot now i can power my mini tv when a hurracane comes!

  • Shoebox technology is the future of cheap and affordable technology!

  • i suppose HD signal in USA might be much stronger than here in Brazil, where digital television has just started. Here this antenna won't tune up anything because of the hills we have in Rio.

  • I can't believe I just spent 70 fucking dollars >_> and saw this out of randomness......

  • thanks for the great video and take time to post it. for all the negative dumbass remarks about being cheap and using the shoe box, my burning question is.. why did you bother first place looking into it? so many retards.

  • I have an old very large analog antenna on the roof I wonder if I connect that antenna to my HDTV if I can pick up some channels. anyone knows?

  • @twistedleg if it picks up good reception, its fine.

  • does it work for vhf and uhf digital tv signal? thanks

  • @compassft yes, even fm

  • this looks as if a simple piece of speaker wire would do the same . Actually they work the same as ive tested and the speaker wire looks cleaner. The reflector didnt help in my case. 73s

  • Has anyone tested this

  • The burning question: How is it that a person can afford to buy an HDTV but can't afford to buy an antenna ? Or does the homemade antenna work better than the store-bought ?

  • @bent1957 exactly. homemade works better

  • Plus, there's the satisfaction that you built it yourself.

  • @QbAnYtO

yes this shoe box antena actually works better than the 3 antenas i had purchased

1st was a rca square antena at around $60 =worthless

2nd was a 19.95 simple rac diapole antenna with uhf loop 39 inch diapoles.i thought longer was better=wrong

3d was a philips composit type plastic uhf loop with adjustable diapoles.

this shoe bvox design actually gives me better more stable picture??

  • @bent1957 Most Home made antennas work much better than your standard $20 antenna.

  • @bent1957 some people are cheap.

  • This is a half-wave dipole antenna which has an impedance of 75 ohms, so it can be connected directly to the coax cable. However, perhaps a 1:1 balun might be desirable to reduce electromagnetic interference.

I made an antenna like this and it works pretty well.

  • you need a balun transformer to go from 75 ohm cable to the approx 300 ohm antenna; will probably have little gain

  • @fredfromsyr I don't guess so since his receiption came in just fine.

  • What is all that crap he's using? I like the tutorial where they straighten the paperclip out into an L shape and shove the smaller end into the coax jack!

  • that shit suck cause is what is the point to put that box in there

  • se que es facil de realizar tratare de hacerla y haber que tal funciona.
