  • curious: this realy BIG engine sound in high notes like a 125cc...and ever with this whistling sound: i don't like it...

    But nice looking like...

  • Sounds just like my old Superdream :-)

  • Sounded like total crap! Standard pipes got a lot to do with it. I have heard one for real with the factory optional shorty pipes, and that sounded awesome in the flesh! Very Harley, very v twin rumbly, but a better bike in all respects than a hog, and cheaper !! The thinking man's cruiser .... and now that the Storm is coming out ...woahhhh !! That's the one for me.

  • why is it so important to share your music with the views and considerations of the motorcycle. its always distracting and never a positive addition

  • Well, I've been a blue and white Thunderbird owner for a week and a half now; I am now enjoying riding on the street more than I EVER have before. What a fantastic bike!

I don't find the suspension to be stiff at all, though; I'm 5' 10", 180 lbs, and the ride is worlds better than the 06 HD XL1200R I had until I got my bird.

Gotta watch it on this bike; it handles so well you can forget you're riding a cruiser and it's pretty easy to scrape the pegs in the twisties :)

  • I started with the 1978 bonneville 750 (still have it) then the 2010 America 900 loved it and now Ive got the 2011 blue haze thunderbird. Highly recommend this bike to any rider. Excellent handelling bike. Great looks and comfort and sound. Customised mine with Foran Razorback pipes and Triumph flat bars plus a few other items. Sounds the best looks like no other.

    .

  • Triumph still makes the best motorcycles in the world.

  • maybe the 6 speed transmission as opposed to the 5 on the rocket...

  • @jafland - After having ridden both a 2010 Thunderbird and a 2010 Rocket III Roadster last Saturday, I don't think you could go wrong with either bike.... best 2 bikes I've ever ridden, by FAR... and I'm currently a Harley owner.... for now.... until I can FIND a Rocket III Roadster..... ;)

  • Nice bike, and good review. Rocket III roadster is the go tho!! Why have silver when you could have gold ??!!

  • Sounds great to me!

  • nice bike !

  • Probably shouldn't do those sound displays until you get some better recording equipment. If it really did sound like that I'd never buy one and if it doesn't you've done more harm than good.

  • @rasersedge2004 -were you listening on your iPhone?

I thought it didn't sound too bad... I just rode one yesterday and the bike sounds AMAZING....

  • @NikkoDaniels No, on my PC and I'll stand by my comment after listening to it again. It sounds absolutely awful, but that's got to be according to my own taste anyway. No doubt some aftermarket pipes will do the trick, I'm of to watch some more clips of them to find out. cheers.

  • put on some Ape hangers.

  • It doesn't sound that way in person. It sounds fantastic. I rode this bike and its amazing. Engine is out of sight. Just as the guy said, it handles like it thinks its a sport bike. I was blown away.

  • @Tiger1050ABS ... i agree about triumph's handling. i have an '07 rocket 3 that'll run rings around a similarly sized harley 7 days a week. not to mention it beats a V-Rod between stoplights every time. much as i love my rocket, and wouldn't give it up for the world, had triumph come out with this one first, this is what i'd've bought. a beautiful bike in every way.

  • Dont you just love it when you see them harly boys at stop lights on there screaming eagles, or vrods, and they start revving the piss out of there bikes, looking at you like there gonna blow you away soon as the lights change! Then as soon as the lights change all you get is a mirror full of harly getting smaller and smaller!...

  • @1981rocketman1981 hahahahaha,now thats not very nice!!!

  • @1981rocketman1981 It's their, not there, as in they own it, it's theirs, and later in your comment it's they're, as in they are gonna blow you away ...... not there. There are three different words at work there man. But you're right (you're as in you are, not your like every Gen Y person seems to think it is), it's great to blow away Harley heads on their tractors, they think those things are so good, but they don't seem to realise they are paying so much for so little. Antiques !!!!

  • @ausglocker Had know idea I was in a spelling bee???? Thanks for the heads up! I really dont give a crap just so you know! But if you wanna wast your time correcting everyones grammar on the internet then hey knock yourself out! Should be enough to keep you occupied for a very very long time!...

  • I could get to like the bike a lot more if it were not for all that engine noise....Too much rattle. Sounds a bit like a garden machine of some sort !
