Thanks Dr Bartlett-I've been following peak oil for the last 6 yrs & only recently became aware of the implications. This along with climate change is the reason republicans have been spending like madmen & busting the treasury because they know the jig is up. *Fine patriots all* This is also why they went to war & this is why they have made the country impossible to govern should a democrat get in. There is a Professor Albert Bartlett on YT who has a series on PO. Any relation?

He re-did this on c-span a month later when oil was at $138 and it was really good and even more informative. Can you post it?

I'll take a look but I wonder how can he get more informative, what else?, I'm looking at other sources. Bartlett has made seventeen speeches about peak oil in 2008, ten speeches about peak oil in 2007, eight in 2006, ten in 2005, ...

This is what he said in 2002:

"There are only about 1,000 gigabarrels of reserves of oil in the world... If we take this 1,000 gigabarrels of oil and divide it by the 80 million barrels of oil that the world uses each day, this comes out to roughly 40 years."
