My most vivid memory is the bomb hole in the side of the rainbow Warrior when it was in drydock. One of my future tradesmen was standing in it,his hands holding onto the top edge as he talked to one of guys standing in the dock bottom. I started my apprenticeship in the naval dockyard three months later...the damage? Surreal as you knew someone died as a result of the sinking.Theres a good writeup and links on wikipedia.
