Originally recorded in the studio and released as a single, it was a Top 5 national Billboard R&B hit, peaking at #4, and reached #47 on the Billboard Hot 100. Brown and the Flames also recorded a live version of "I Don't Mind" on their 1963 album Live at the Apollo.
