  • Lmfao@The Pope Joke Great Video

  • Love, Peace, Respect

I just can't shake off the feeling that You are mocking the Pope when you say ''his Holiness or whatever you want to call it, Popeiness'' . Doesn't your school of Buddhism also have a ''Holiness'' in the personality of the Dalai Lama- who is on very good therms with the Pope?

  • @Kosta88Pop That's Tibetan Buddhism that has the Dalai Lama.

  • bhuddha will runaway hearing this.

  • "Don't believe what I say"

I myself wont always believe what he says. I take in what he says then if I agree with it then I agree with it, if not then I don't.

The person I believe above all else, the one that I look to for guidance the most is myself. I like listening to him so that I can have help to listen to myself.

  • does buddhism believe in ghosts??? like possession??

  • Ajahn Brahm should be on TED!

  • I believe we all suffer from stupidity, ignorance, and delusion. Even the greatest teachers do too. I saw the documentary My Reincarnation, about a Buddhist Rinpoche's son, who is suppose to be a Rinpoche too, but his father lets him decide what he wants to be. For over twenty years this young man grows into an adult and does the things he wants, and eventually he finds his spiritual calling and becomes a teacher. It just shows how much people's lives are similar. myreincarnationfilm. com

  • May All Beings be happy.

  • While Buddha was alive, Why did Buddha have after death experience: kamar, reincarnation? Was Buddha big mouth?

  • Buddha taught " don't eat fish, meat" that were stupid? What is wrong with fresh, organic meat?

  • @MrWrongevolution Probably has something to do with not causing suffering to other living beings.

  • @MrWrongevolution With the knowledge that another living being was killed for the purpose of eating, one should not eat this, but if by dire need and in certain places on earth, meat is necessary to live, therefore can be eaten. Only by dire need should a Buddhist monk eat meat. Would you eat the flesh of another human being? I think not. The same goes for animals. Why kill animals out of greed? Whatever possible, do not kill.

  • love the video really good

  • very interesting thanks

  • If Buddhists seek peace & harmony then Buddhists would have to be Vegan.

  • @DetractMedia

A high percentage of buddhists are vegans.

  • @DetractMedia

absolutely, it's simply logical, isn't it?

  • why Is there K1 Fighting suggestion in related video's lol :D

  • People must study moral science from Buddhism.

  • Thankyou for saying " don't believe you. "

Evil Does Exist. Some people are so fake in what they show in order to leach others life energy and anything else they can take from another. They set out to destroy the other person. The real self has no redeemable qualities. They never add anything of value, they only destroy. I married such a person so I know what I am talking about.

The no conscience, con artist. The psychopath.

  • @foragreatseal and a potential buddha

  • @naegling3

your comment shows ignorance to the real physical world. There is no potential for them to transform because they are without a conscience / soul. The 7th and 8th higher consciencious does not exist in them. They are hollow. They have no life force and live off others. They have no ethics and they can not and will not change because they profit from what they do. I suggest you educate yourself about them. They are 4.7 % of the population. Believing their is hope makes you a target.

  • @foragreatseal sounds like you got an axe to grind fo sho

  • @naegling3

I believe people need to know the facts about the world. To believe all people have some good in them is false and leaves that person vulnerable to the peditors. That is what all they are and ethical, honourable, kind, giving people are the prey.

I just wish all people to be able to spot them so they are not hurt by them. They are only 4.7 % but they affect many times their numbers.

  • What about the mentally disabled?

  • There is no such thing as evil in Buddhism, there is only stupidity. Like mixing up the cause and the results. I mean, greed leads to billions of pigs in boxes and can’t move an inch their whole life, going insane of boredom.Like the abundant of minerals in Afghanistan.Quite convenient while wiping out religious fundamentalists, don’t you think? While the official reported NIST 911 science is a bunch of hot wash. Quite stinky too, actually. No that’s not evil, that stupidity. Yeah-right.

  • @TerrierBram What you said is stupidity.

  • @Agomongo1235 Oh gosh, I'm so impressed with the depths of this statement. But really, u aren't that smart as you think.

  • YOU ARE RIGHT. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS EVIL OR GOOD. BECAUSE IT IS ALL ABOUT PERCEPTION AND RATIONALIZATION.

    MAN, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

  • No evil? Are you sure? But Buddha didn't deny EVILS in our minds (MARA). Evils (unwholesome thoughts/actions/speech) do exist. Is he trying to topple realities with his own views.

  • "By oneself, indeed, is evil done; by oneself is one defiled. By oneself is evil left undone; by oneself, indeed, is one purified. Purity and impurity depend on oneself. No one purifies another." Dhammapada, chapter 12, verse 165

Buddhism teaches that evil is something we create in our minds, not something that is us or some outside force that will infect us.

  • @MrMbodhi By oneself .... learn English man... selfish.

  • @oliverthered Do you not see the quotation marks and the reference to the Dhammapada? It is from the DHAMMAPADA, not my words. Perhaps it is you who is being selfish by not reading and understanding my comment before you comment. Be well sir.

  • @MrMbodhi Buddhism teaches that evil is objective not actual. Are you an objective person or an actual person? Buddha also taught that you should explain things in a colloquial manner, otherwise other people would have great difficulty in interpreting them by their-self. On the other side would be objectivism, that people are actual not objective.

  • @oliverthered What part of what I said was hard to understand? I actually think the verse I quoted is one of the easiest to understand in the Dhammapada.

  • @MrMbodhi 1: if you where actual or objective, 2: if you read or understood what I said (hint there's an error in it)

in short it was your understanding that was hard to understand. are you and objective person or an actual person? oneself, selfish, their-self, maya the illusion of self. are you and actual person or an objective person?

  • @imuvmful actually no. all actions unwholesome or evil arises out of ignorance. thus, evil in itself is based on ignorance... so "evil" doesn't exist the way the world commonly views it.

in the movies for example, the creepy little ghost girls are always "evil" and there is no reason for their evil because they just are "evil". but in Buddhism, everything has a cause. and ignorance is the cause of "evil". thus Ajahn Brahm's talks are well based in Buddhist teachings. :)

  • If he had long straight hair he would look just like The Beast from Kung Fu Hustle XD

    This tickles me so much

  • Making comparations between religions with a God and Buddhism doesn't sound very wise and not certainly very buddhist. Many wars alone history have happened because of comparation and the believe that the spiritual tradition we are into is the wiser and the best. A religion with God is not better or worse than buddhism, but just a different way of cultivating what is good, beautiful and healthy in us.

  • @yukiko1982: Criticizing teachings without understanding them is not wise.

The concept of god arises from ego & confused thinking. Religions with god shut the minds of people in dogmas & so are harmful. God is an artificial notion created because of ego, so it cannot help people go beyond ego & reach full enlightenment. In such religions, most people go "I have worshipped my god who loves me, so I am perfect" & stop all further progress - not much "cultivation of good" there, is it?

  • @drav1dan The notion of God arises from ego when God is a notion. Buddha arises from ego if Buddha is a notion. Once all the notions are throw away, there is no God and there is no Buddha. In fact there is a zen said: If you see the Buddha: Kill it!.

  • Comment removed

  • @yukiko1982 That doesn't make any sense "Once all the notions are throw(n) away, there is no God and there is no Buddha" that doesn't make any sense. Buddha is completely opposite the of God! Buddha says he is not God. So boviousley Buddhism would still be living. Even if God wasn't there.

  • hahahah even JB is mentioned in buddhism jajaja, thx for the enlightening, now let's work hard to get this wisdom ^^

  • but i do believe english language limit the meanings.. sometime

  • Wisdom and Stupidity - rather sums up the comments on this page.

  • Tonight has been a most enlightening night, . Ajahn. You've helped me in a way I can possibly help other understand a certain situation I'm in at the moment. If it fails, that's up to them, if it works, again them but plus me a bit. Your teachings never grow old and I appropriate them in all aspects. Good night!

  • I have a hard time accepting that there is no evil.......what about people who traffic child in the sex slave for example? There is such darkness in the world sometimes.

  • @74hisway Well, you don't have to accept it if it doesn't make sense to you. Don't have to believe it just because he says so, that's a point he made, research for yourself and come to a conclusion based on your observations.

  • @74hisway He said there is no evil in buddhism. In buddhism the demon sara lives with everyone. It's not a demon like a christain demon but a lure of desire that make ppl "evil". Hope that explains.

  • @Ashitanoyuki do you mean " Mara"? I've never heard of the demon sara, and even so Mara is a representation of the fight within ourselves, not a literal satanic figure. Granted there are some sects of Buddhism that are much more " religious" then others. This is one of the main reasons why I like Theravada and Theravada monks like Ajahn Brahm.

  • @JrDiNisi Yes , Mara . I forgot the name. Mara is the embodiment of human desires, like u said, he's not a real thing. Before buddha get enlightened, he fought off the Mara's daughters, which represent the sentual desires. He also defeated Mara's army and turned their arrows into flowers. These are just figurative speeches that make ppl easier to understand what he has experienced.

  • Once again. Very grateful for the talk. I have no idea on the impact on my life yet. But based on previous experience, I know that I will gained some useful insights after repetitive listening. Sadhu! Sadhu! Sadhu!

  • Did you notice the cat behind the water bottles on the left?

  • @garouHH looks like a tissue box, with a tissue hanging out and fluttering in the wind. that's all.

  • LOL! Justin bieber! I died from laughing when he mentioned him, and then I came back as a cat and learned how to type, meow!

  • @Speiraz LOL! random!

    Meow to you too! :)

  • Thankyou so much, especially the bit about pets and vets.

  • Ajahn brahm is one of the monk who can say 'shit' ,that makes him interesting ,he not usual monk who do staright dhamma talks which bore the hell out of you, we, younger generation likes to listen to jokes and reality of life, not alwiys need to polite but real teaching on modern society, what do to in difficult time"do nothing and have a cup of tea when nothing could be do" life is suffering anyway, i have to admit ajahn brahm have change my life significantly, thank you ajahn, sadhu, sadhu, sadhu

  • Wonderful; and very mindful food for thought

  • People throw away what they could have by insisting on perfection, which they cannot have, and looking for it where they will never find it.
