Back in the olden days I choreographed a few glam show openers using this track - I'm rapt to find it on youtube - coz my original LP & show master tapes were knocked off. Pleased to read there is a CD re-release of this masterful singer and amazing orchestration. Thanks for the inspiration, Lainie!
I've been a huge fan of Lainie since I first heard her on the radio back in the 60's. I bought her records and wore them to a frazzle -- couldn't get enough of that DYNAMIC voice of hers!!! I'm so happy to discover her on YouTube. She is a wonderful performer, and a wonderful person! I LOVE Lainie!!!!
I heard Lainie in her later years and loved her style and pitch. I always wished she had gone into jazz whole heartedly. I would have loved to see her play off of other musicians in a more intimate setting where she has more freedom. When I hear tracks like this I really wonder what could have been if she had....she is truly gifted and underrated
... Sun in the sky, Birds in the sky... YOU (Lainie) Know How I Feel... It's a New Dawn, a New Day, a New Life... for me... (Thanks to you, Lainie, and your VOICE and talent!) ... [and THANKyou mojoclubber!] ... HUGS!... J.
Been in LOVE with Lainie since April 1968... I was in Navy and Marines (same time)... and I found her album (LP)... super fine cuts, by wonderful! Her! ... Love you, Lainie! ... J.
The first time I ever heard Lainie Kazan's Voice, I stopped in my tracks! Immediately, I was a huge Lainie Kazan Fan. That was in about 1969-70! And I don't think I have ever heard ANY, repeat ANY, singer, vocalist, artist, that has kept on getting better and better. I've never seen her in films because, to me, she is first and foremost a singer! And if I have a chance to see one of her films, I won't turn down the opportunity!
I've seen 'em all -- Barbra, Bernadette, Bette, Barbra Cook, Linda Ronstadt, Liza, Tina, Cydi and the list goes on --but the best live, in-person performance of a song I have ever witnessed was Lainie Kazan singing "I'm a Fool to Want You." What a voice, what a talent, what a woman!
This is my all time favorite version of this song.......Every song Lainie sings she makes it her own , as if it was written for her.......I only wish her older albums were available on CD , so we can have them on full volume , so the world can also hear the talent that is Lainie Kazan.......Oh and by the way ......I'm a BIG fan !!!!
Great, great, great!!!!!!!!

It's so nice to see that there are people who remember Lainie Kazan as a singer...long before she started acting in films.
