  • I couldnt stop starring at Elton's teeth....

  • The GREATEST TALENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE UNIVERSE, ELTON JOHN!!!!!!!! Aieeeeeee!!!

  • I believe the song that Rowlf and Fozzie are playing is "Shepherd's Hey" by Percy Grainger. At least, I know Grainger did a version of this, but it may be a variation on an old Irish folk song for all I know.

  • "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road". I played keyboards in this song at our jazz show! :-)

  • Many Thanks to Elton , Jim @ all the Muppets! Thanks for the memories.

  • Goodbye Yellow Brick Road! My FAVORITE song by Elton John! YAY!!!!!

  • @kachinababe: well, both henson & mr. john ARE oz fans, so...

  • During the Vet's Hospital scene I'm surprised Dr. Bob makes no mention of being a dog himself.

  • The Swedish Chef is my favorite character.

  • Goodbye Yellow Brick road... always makes me cry..

  • What's the name of the song that Rowlf and Fozzie are playing?

  • What's Miss Mousey doing in the audience? I thought she was one of the actors?

  • That hotdog joke was tastless, wasn't it?

  • whats the elton john song called?

  • 13 years before my time was the best time... wtf srsly!! i need a time machine

  • I see Waldorf, Statler and Sam the Eagle have hit the DISLIKE button, the cultural, heckling idiots.

Doubtlessly those three dislikers don't know what they're thinking; that sketch with Rowlf, Fozzie and the piano for example was brilliant, particularly on the glissandro at the end. I truly cracked up on seeing that first time.

  • Correction to that comment - "glissando" without the "r". {:)

  • Ive looked all over for the rowlf and fozzies sketch :D

  • Fossie playing the piano? Wow!

  • GOODBYE Yellow BricK!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE this version of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road!!!!

  • Go Fozzie and Rowlf

  • That song Rowlf and Fozzie play, isn't it the English Country Garden?

  • @mechasaurus Yes, it is.

  • can u play hatless?

i dont know, who wrote it?

    lol

  • R: I didn't know you could play piano.

    F: Neither did I.

    Rowlf and Fozzie's duet...awesome!

  • @HSRunnerFan09 Yeah, it was kind of reminiscent of Chico and Harpo Marx.

  • Elton John sounds differant now.

And he's also wrote the song for the lion king too.

  • @collgoff

He had surgery in the 1990s..he can't hit the range he used to.

  • woot! 7:42 a minimoog

  • He's not dead... in fact, I heard he was touring still. Good for him!

I love the duet with Rowlf and Fozzie... genius!

  • AAAARGH!! COCKNIES!!!! RUN!

  • fozzie and rolf r my favorite 2 lol

  • Thanks for posting this. I love it. Not only is Elton in it but it has the sketch with Rolf and Fozzie at the piano. Classic.

  • I love how the Muppet Show always had old-timey songs. :D

  • Elton is far from the tombstone

  • I know, if I had to pick one adjective to describe him, it would be ALIVE!!! Woot, Elton is AMAZING!

  • now that i'm doing theatre, i really appreciate how well Elton John can sing and how hard he must've worked just for the aplause, i now fully apreciate his voice, good job Elton John, and rest in peace :(

  • he died!?

  • well,actualy i'm not so sure,but the point is he's really good

  • lol no...

  • Very funny show

  • Veterinarian's Hospital is one of my favorite sketches!

  • Wow, Fozzie is a natural at the piano! - and that duet was so cute and funny! fozzie and Rowlf are two of my favourites...

  • he sounds so great !!!

  • i'm loving animals drum kit, you'd need three feet to use all the pedals lol

  • i love elton johonnnnnnnnnnnns songs

  • same here :)

  • Fozzie looks like Chico Marx when he plays piano.

  • Fozzie and Rowlf duet = EPIC! And cute, too. :)

  • That's probably why they used it twice.

  • It's been ages since The Muppets were on originally and some of those sketches still make me laugh. That piano duet is memorably hilarious. A special thank to Jim Henson for making me laugh throughout my childhood, teen years and further on!

  • That was the best piano duet I've ever seen. I really did LOL! Man, I miss the Muppet Show. I miss Jim Henson, too. :(

  • One of the best live performances of GYBR!

  • To you, Elton John. I light my lighter for you. *waves light* ELTON JOHN FOREVER!

  • The piano piece is called 'Country Gardens' composed by Percy Grainger

  • Didn't they do the Fozzie and Rowlf piano bit in another episode?

  • Interesting that they removed the "Vodka and Tonic" lyric from "Goodbye Yellowbrick Road"

  • What's that song Elton John sang at the end of this clip? it's nice. :)

  • "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."

  • Does anyone know if the Fozzie Bear part is a real piano piece. If so, who wrote it?

  • Can you play Hatless?!? No, who wrote it?!? nyahaha!...

  • Elton John is so cool! My mom loves him so much!

  • You don't see this type of entertainment anymore. Sheer genius.

  • The Fozzie Bear piano bit was genius! It seems so spontaneous. Henson magic at work!

  • I was 8 years old when this aired. I remember it coming on at 7:00 pm on Saturday night. Loved Elton back then and still do. The Muppets rule!

  • Way before my time, as '86 was my year. I bought the first season set out of curiosity and liked it so much that I got the Second season, which proved even better. Here's hoping Seasons 3 is released in the near future. :)

BTW, they really need to bring stuff like this back on TV nowadays.

  • Season 3 is out. Go get it!!

  • Huh? It's out now?? I thought it was coming out in May. :/

  • My bad. May 20th. But you can pre-order!

  • his voice it's excellent

  • OMG! Yellow Brick Road!

  • It's such a beautiful song.

  • This is one of the best Muppets show, defo one of the classic episodes

  • I wasn't born yet either. This was 15 years before my birth. Sometimes I wish I had ben born earlier so I could have grown up with stuff like this. Heck, when I was born, Jim Henson (rest in peace, bold hero) had already been dead for two years. So nice to see that people stil care about this.

  • yeah it sounds beatiful. does anyone know what year this is? like 1972 or something id guess

  • October 25th 1977 according to IMDB. I would have been about 10 months old.

  • I wouldn't be born for another 11 years, but I would still get to see this and other Muppet Show episodes as reruns in the early 90s.

  • Same here. Early 90's reruns with my Grandparents. We used to do rock-paper-scissors for this show or Lawrence Welk. I won more often (I think they used to let me). Thank you so much for putting these on here, Dr Strangepork! Greatly appreciated!

  • I wouldn't be born yet either. Born 79. Damn I feel old, or young. Now I am confiused.
