@ DanPrinMan below, I think Vanhoozer's point is exactly that, distinctly Christian hermeneutics is trinitarian, as opposed to Steiner's which is more broadly theistic. It is phrased a little funny but that is certainly his meaning. Especially if you have read "Is there a meaning in this text" where that comes out explicitly.
I'm not sure what he means when he says "someday I would have to think about hermeneutics from a theological perspective, that was distinctly Christian. Unlike, Steiner's which is to say trinitarian."
Certainly our theology, as Christians, ought to be trinitarian in that God has always existed as trinity.
