A perfect world is an impossibility. Why? Because without problems in the world to overcome our lives would be completely without meaning. Another thing to consider is that with out the suffering in the world we would not be able to appreciate the things which bring us joy. Why? Well imagine you have a black and white picture. Now lighten up the black untill it allmost looks like an empty canvas. How can you appreciate this picture? With out it's contrast you cannot.
Hey Darryl, when one talks about religion he/she has to bear in mind that ancient people did not just wake up one day and decide to invent religion out of boredom?
It was more or less a primitive attempt to try and explain the complexities that is embodied in this ambiguous universe we happen to find ourselves - a "stab in the dark" so to speak.
We are scared little animals trying to desperately grasp onto something that can devour us and leave us safe and fulfilled at the same time. Good vid.
Scientifically, the reason why people LOVE each other is because people share the same personalities/hobbies as each other.
The reason why people HATE each other is because they don't share the same personalities/hobbies as each other.
Why did those people not love you anymore when you abandoned religion? Because you set yourself up for not having the sharing the same characteristics as each other, therefore LOVE turns into HATE.
We love the people in our families because they share the same bloodline and they work together in order to survive.
Without the family, a baby born with its parents dead will most likely die because it cannot get support from its parents, and therefore it will not learn anything new
however when a family member commits a crime for example - killing someone, LOVE turns into HATE. It is because that family member did bad and other family members would regret doing killing themselves.
great video,& i think your right with what you say,but with included religion ,if you know what i mean ,people just need a better understanding of it ,probably me just beening open minded checkout my latest video and the science that backs it up ,id be interested in your views
I can't do that. I'm far too aware of religion's mind-contolling effect on people, from personal experience, and I care a lot about helping people to recover from it.
If a religion has a solid case, it should have no fear of criticism.
@darrylsloan You know... most religious people are quite nice. Also Most charitable organizations are founded and run by religious groups. I am sorry that your experience with religion whent badly but you must understand that every religious group is different. This is true even within the same religion. Different churches within the same religion will have allmost entirely different atmospheres in them. Some of them are quite crazy and disruptive to their community but most are the opposite.
your right, religion divides people... people of most religions claim their faith is of love, yet they expect people of other faith to burn forever in some hell cause they dont accept the same savior/holy book as theirs.. people try to escape their hatred towards others by claiming 'god' is judging them and not themselfs....
this universe = 0... for every +1 there must be a -1... there is no 'good' and no 'evil'... only moments of clarity, containing a shift between the + vs -..
Even though humans are the so called "most evolved" species, we are also the most destructive. Though we see ourselves as great beings, we can be classified as parasites. (Yes, such as fleas, ticks, mosquitos, intestinal worms, etc. due to the fact we're giving nothing back as we take and take) A perfect world cannot be possible unless we change this. Perfection can only be accomplished when we give as much as we receive. Total overhaul of the human mentality or total death.
sorry about the multiple comments, and thank you darryl for your views. I truly appreciate your musings on this reality and though you constantly speak somewhat ill of religion it is not without some degree of justification. ( :
well peace to everyone out there and give a little love to a stranger or old friend don't just let these words fall into oblivion remember them in action and try to live for a perfect world, that's the only way to make it happen.
I know thats weird but that may be a better explanation of the Deificacio experience i related to you earlier. Though we are all one, there remains an individuality at some level, and we can revert to this at will even when occupied perfectly in the more refined states of being. This is in my opinion why i believe in a resurrection of the body at what christians would call the "fullness of times" or "the end of days" or whatever you like. because the body is part of us even us as a divine mind
i think there truly is a duality i've had out of body experiences with memories from both sides very clear. its almost as though my mind goes through a refinement each time it gets further separated from the body. And my favorite collaboration for this is the feelings of ultimate bliss people report in near death experiences. I love my grandpa and he had an NDE several years back and says it was this perfect feeling of unity with everything but still from the perspective of him.
Plato tried to figure this out as did Socrates and Jesus and Confucius and Buddha and many many others. All of them tried to show it as a dedication to the community or all others in one aspect or another.
darryl: humans need to share, share is complicated, it could be, information, food, love, hate, etc, but, the important thing is that humans (we) are selfish, as a behaviour, since we lived in the caverns, we must grow, as individuals, to become leaders, as dogs have an alfa. i think this behaviour can be only eliminated if evolution continues in our minds, the point here is that we are not that different to animals, we protect ourselves and the ones we love. in guatemala this is very hard also
Another big thing stopping us from loving each other is money. Money is nothing, it is fabricated, yet we live and die on this earth on the grounds on how much we have? When you get billions of people depending on, killing over, dying over something that DOES NOT EXIST... then you know there's a problem. If money goes, this world would be a better place.
A perfect world would have everyone being born with the Cardinal Virtues from day 1. Beginning with the key to "KNOWING THEMSELF" and being TEMPORATE, unlocking the three hinges of WISDOM, COURAGE and finally JUSTICE. Peace is a by-product of these.
how do we know if the world we live in right now is not perfect, if we can only dream of a perfect world the that's it you cant change the reality we already live in. to me I think we are in a Average world. A world With a little bit of everything peace love and the there's hate. But really if you were to imagine the world as perfect your will not be the same as what others think it to be.
Maybe "what would make a perfect world" is the wrong question. Sure, religion is exclusive but so is this "perfect world" POV. Where do the murderers, anarchists, child molesters etc etc fit in with this. Do we change them against their will? After all, they are a fly in the ointment aren't they? Maybe we should concentrate on changing ourselves and helping others who want to. Still, I can imagine Winston of Ghostbusters saying "Earth, what a planet!"
excelent! i love these views. if we could understand that we are everything and everyone, then we could learn to love everyone and everything. even the whole pk, telepathy and empathy go along this too. if we were to understand that we are not 2, but one, we would not only be able to love eachother, but do the extraodanary things like pk, telepathy, and empathy.the loving of eachother goes to empathy. if you could understand how they truely felt, you could understand them, and be able to love em
I agree. But the more I think about it, if we are one, and we're everything and everyone, we are the murderers, the child molesters, the criminals and the thieves. But they are us as well...
Because we are one, do you not feel kind've of lost as a person? Doesn't it
bother you that you not your own person, you just rely on this one consciousness?
You're right to raise this, and there's no getting around it. Being "one" means being all the bad people and good people. This does not mean justifying the bad, and there ought to be prisons to protect society.
But it does pave the way for a wonderful shift in understanding: The ability to have compassion on the worst of the worst - to see them as broken minds in need of healing, rather than monsters to be destroyed.
"Love your enemies" should sound familiar. :-) But is rarely practised.
"Because we are one, do you not feel kind've of lost as a person?"
That's how I would feel if I still identified my sense of self as brain/mind - as the collection of experiences known as Darryl Sloan. But I am infinite consciousness, having multiple experiences of mind.
Think of it like this: if I dropped dead right now, I would still be alive, because I am you. Different mind, different set of memories, different personality - but still "consciousness."
And what if we didn't try to wake the sleeping giant of our consciousness? Does this mean we won't become the trillions of other people in the world, as one?
Or can we pass through this "mini slice of one consciousness" called life without knowing our potential and still experience this oneness of eachother when we leave this earthly life?
It all hinges on how you define the word "you." Most people think of "you" or "I" as individual body/mind. I life with a sense of awareness that I am more than body/mind. Body/mind is a limiter that stops me accessing the full awareness of what I am, which is everyone and everything.
No matter what I do or don't do in this life, no matter what I believe or don't believe, it cannot change the underlying nature of things - that there is only oneness experiencing itself through separation.
"You" as body/mind can never access full awareness (omniscience), because you could never exist as body/mind whilst knowing everything. But "you" as Infinite Consciousnss, as the Whole, as God, are already experiencing full awareness, in that single moment of infinite awareness, which is both eternity and "now."
I'm summarising deep concepts, but I hope that helps.
Just to continue, no matter what you believe, there is no missing out on whatever's next. There's no salvation or damnation in this belief of mine - which is what makes it great. Life is experience, therefore the point of life is to experience.
I think that death is probably a massive expansion of consciousness for everyone who goes through it.
We are only experiencing part of that which we CAN experience through full awareness. When we die our body will be buried but our consciousness lives on as one?
Yes. But remember also that time isn't actually moving forward. Everything is happening in a single moment of infinite awareness, which means that you (as Infinite Consciousness) are already experiencing full awareness NOW.
It's also possible that soul continues after death in a state of individuality from oneness, to undergo more experiences.
I don't concern myself about whether an individual soul continues after death because I've become aware that all is one. The real you is EVERYTHING.
I don't even think "time" exists. Afterall, we invented the word to "organise" a moving list of events. It is not a litteral movement of space where we are able to travel through and end up at the different points of these events.
But there is also an issue with the difficulties in people having an intellectual understanding of One-ness and having an experiential understanding.. one being thinking (as influenced from external sources), the other being an inner knowledge and understanding of it. I'm not convinced that the latter always follows on from the former. But I experienced it the other way around- inner understanding first- as i think you did also.
I agree with you but with haters and lovers on Earth...It just kind of completes all of us because it just makes the world normal well kind of...Lol keep it up Byeee
