I have always been very slim. After several years on Paxil(Aka "Deroxat" in France) I had gained about 20 pounds.
I stopped this drug one year and a half ago and lost all the weight. The Cold turkey withdrawal was horrific but now I began feeling better thanks to the website "Paxil progress" which is helpful.
Paxil is known to cause weight gain. It slows down the metabolism drastically so that even just "normal" amounts of food cause you to gain weight. Do some research.....most (not all, of course) people gain weight from Paxil.
I gained nearly 100 pounds on Paxil. Never before did I have a weight problem. There must have been hundreds of other side effects, but the worst were the withdrawal effects. These SSRI pills ruin many lives, sometimes even taking them (school shooters, suicide victims, etc).
Paxil saved my life. I run marathons now, I'm a cfo, and I'm happy alone and single. Before paxil I was a very talented and capable person but the slightest setback made me want to chop of my arms and burn my flesh. Weird huh? Well I guess paxil isn't for everyone. P.s. have you tried a physical regiment five times a week for 30 minutes a day? I don't think paxil makes people gain weight. I think it makes them content and they gain weight themselves.
@madmaxsdp Logically you would think there is no way a medication can cause weight gain. After all, eating too much and not exercising is the only way to gain weight, right? Wrong. I was mystified when I noticed a weight gain from Cipralex (Escitalopram) while struggling with anorexia. How could this be?
Just goes to show how little doctors know about the drugs they hand out. Our bodies don't recognize the chemicals. I'll never take another antidepressant again.
in all seriousness i dont think taht person was smart enough to even create a pun like that. i think theyre just stupid, and don't know how to spell "waste"
Please type in Ban Paxil using your google search engine and sign the petition if you believe that Paxil is a bad drug
