  • this is africa every day

  • Obama's Objective !!

  • I remember these times as a youngster, I had to deal with the Dirty 30s also. My father got work with the CCC Camp and later got a Railroad job with Santa Fe Railway. A lot of good and bad memories. I enjoyed watching.

  • The depression only happened cause the government let it happened. There was no real reason for people to be homeless or jobless.

  • If you see poverty coming your way, move to the state of Tennessee where the mountains and streams are, do not move to any state like California or Arizona where the mountains are dry and desert. Move to Gruetli Laager, Tennessee, where there are mountains and streams by the thousands upon thousands of acres, and live in the wilderness paradise up here and GET OUT OF THE CITIES WHERE CRIME WILL BE SO RAMPART IN DAYS TO COME.

  • I hope that viewers realise that an even worse depression is coming fairly soon. I'd almost bet my life on it. What makes it worse this time is that it will be an inflationary depression. On top of that, you have a much worse culture and many more people to worry about when society breaks down.

  • ITS NOW ILLEGAL TO FEED THE HOMELESS. LOOK AT FOOD NOT BOMBS.

    END THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX.

  • over 80% of the population now, would not be able to stand one month of living like they did in the 30's Without their Fiji bottle water, and foam homo orange fat free latte, flat screen, role playing computer games, leave the kids indoors, fat lazy, useless post 1975 me generation, vegetarian, it's everyone fault but mine, leave it for tomorrow better not be confrontational and act like a metro sexual , lets not hit our children, cheat on my spouse because i want attention bullshit people.

  • @wtfhellas

I agree, for bad parents, beating is the only solution.

  • I am that impressed - this is a very good and a very important work.

  • I was a young boy during the Dirty 30s. My folks were Kansas Farmers at the time, I remember wet rags around windows and doors to keep the dust out, all it did was slow the dust down. I remember a lot of people blamed Wall Street for the Depression.

  • thx 4 posting this! i need it 4 my sch presentation thx so much :D

  • the great depression effected alot of countries ,even my country IRAQ,my father was born 1904 he was tailor he had lil store to make clothes ,he told me about the great depression in usa and effected iraq they had name for it (senin loa).he said in one month no one come to his store no customer at all .he spent all his mony then he went back to the village but people starving .so they had to live on hunting when there is no hunt they had to eat even the skin of the cow after shaving it

  • Time to get a gov job and live off of the taxpayers.

  • Actually, history is only stuttering over an issue that it obviously refuses to ever address: truly liberating people from fear.

  • It is very sad to see a family thrown out of a home for non-payment of rent, but baracading themselves inside is not the answer. Not all landlords are rich fat cats. Many landlords have bills of their own to pay. If the renter does not keep his commitment to pay rent the landloard might fall behind on his payments and lose the entire building... wiping out a lifetime of sacrifce. It is not right to take away everything a man has ever worked for just because another mand wants to sleep somewhere.

  • It's taking to much to load.. anyone else have that problem? : / But some of the scenes look sad.

They say this year's economy was worst than the Great Depression!

  • @rigomrtsfx Well, not exactly "nothing", but it's true that will never be as bad as in the 30's, that's for sure.

  • @Bitteulze some people think that a more modern type of great depression could be even worse than the 1930s depression because the dollar could colapse. At least in the 1930s paper american cash had value (if you had any)

  • The great depression never happened...it was a plan by Rupert Murdock to get people with money to invest in financial interests and companies for his personal wealth. All the images and papers were fabricated or embelished. He took REGULAR hobo camps (that still exist today around the country) and made it look it was happening EVERYWHERE. He filmed food lines and people who were down on their luck, and made it seem like the entire country was broke. Not true. And everyone bought it.

  • @TheGreenPlague the great depression never happened? bwhahaha

    wait a sec...bwahahaha. ha?

  • @bluehorse888 Prove it...go ahead. You can't. Ask anyone at anytime...all these stories happen ALL the time. Everyones poor somewhere sometime. My dad had to steal bread too, and that was in the 70's. Everyone's got a sob story. There's hobo camps under the interstate bridge at the rail road depot in my city, it aint rare. I can whip up pictures, and publish books with 'proof' too, if I owned the press. It's all bullshit, you're being conned all the time. Open your eyes, or pay for lies.

  • @TheGreenPlague what about the dust bowl? what about balck friday? what about the huge transfer of wealth that happened at exactly the same time...how could all this be faked...and for what purpose? if anything, many rich people got way richer during the depression, if there was a conspiracy, I would think that was it no?

  • @bluehorse888 *pinches sinus* "sigh"...Like I said, all of those 'markets' are controlled the huge transfer of wealth DID happen, but it actually had no effect no economy except for the reaction to it. When stock investors lost value in their companies, they tried to sell what they could immediately giving away power of comapnies to the banks! Who purchased and liquidated whole companies and their assets. But the international bankers did not have total control yet, as they do now.

  • @bluehorse888 They needed propaganda and the media to twist the people, we are only human, and very influenced by the world around us. Were a fragile, and energetic race. We do things as a whole, primarily, a collective conciousness. One dust bowl or bad crop season in the mid west isn't responsible for a nation starving. We have commerce with nations, and farms in every part of the country. When people hear it's bad, they assume it's bad. The event itself, was as it is today, ...controlled.

  • @bluehorse888 It's not a conspiracy if it actually happened, and yes balances of power shift between bankers and countries that control the market. But that doesn't leave it's people incapable of work! WE ARE OUR OWN NATION! We THE PEOPLE, control the laws and the economy of ourselves! Not some newspaper telling us there is no jobs! We change the legislation, and do what we have to! We came to this country with nothing. NOTHING. We don't need these money changers stealing our lives for a dollar.

  • @TheGreenPlague The dollar doesn't actually exist. It's a symbol. You and your family are real people with futures. Don't be influenced by the others. Get off your ass and create the work. Tobacco was illegal to grow in England, so John Smith sailed over here and grew what people wanted, bam, America. We defied our Kings and dumped their taxes in the bay, we don't need it...America. America is about doing RIGHT, and being human...It's never been about money, but they would have you think it.

  • @TheGreenPlague The great depression never happened. It was just an attempt to make everyone feel hopeless and keep them down. To see the control of the banks, like a master beating a dog with a stick...It was a mixture of propaganda for those who were unaffected (many more than those hurt by the depression); and companies liquidated by the banks, the depression of others affecting a nation and the world around them.

  • @TheGreenPlague LOL>THE GREAT DEPRESSION NEVER HAPPENED? Tell that to my 87 year old mother who just barely lived through it

  • @TheGreenPlague Rupert Murdoch was born in 1931, so I doubt he was out there filming hobo camps in a stroller. The Fed was responsible for the deliberate stock market crash of 1929 just as they still are responsible and control the economy today with interest rates, inflation, etc. All a plan by the Elite to have a 2 class nation and eventually a One World Government and monetary system. Of course the whole country wasn't broke now or then - only the "old money" survive - always....

  • @GeminiNightOwl Did I say Rupert Murdock??? I meant the other guy. = )

  • @rigomrtsfx "companies".

  • The people at the Great Drepression really had it hard, still most of them were very decent people. Now days, people are just to eager do do evil things if they fall into hard times.

  • Watermellon maybe, your government is about to do a number on you so horrific you will wish you were sharin a tiny cell with a watermellon munchin person. That would seem like a better option

  • Bread my butt, it was probably a watermellon

  • Hey foods food. america is headed right back to another great depression now.History always repeats itself.

  • @ilililhy only this time i dont think ppl will be as ready or willing to help each other though it....

  • @ilililhy So true man. So true.

  • @ilililhy History always repeats itself unless the people can look back to the past and try to correct the present. We just need to educate every average Joe and we need a large population that can capable critical thinking so the can avoid the troubles from the past.

  • heeyy this sounds familiar....how long after the great depression before a world war started?

  • Wow, isn't it amazing how history repeats itself?

    Great Depression 1930's = Great Recession/Depression 2000's

  • Start a gang. cops very suceptible to bribes during depression.

  • yaaaaaaaaaa

  • We aren't too far away from this happening again except this time people will not know what the heck to do.

  • No one deserves to be like this.

  • Who reckons that there'll be another Great Depression in the near future? Coz, i actually don't know...I mean, we're in a recession right now and it hasn't even hit many people in Australia, but then again, we are constantly having recessions and...more and more people are beginning to go into debt and stuff...So, I reckon that soon, the time will come, where there will be another Great Depression.

  • Harry Dent and Peter Schiff sure do.

  • When this time will come? for people like me, they are already in the worst form of depression and my wife takes me to the GP for medical treatment of my depression. Doctor says that I should quit worrying about things and I say to my my doctor that My depression is due to Depression. He is unable to comprehend. What should I do??

  • Stop watching TV and the news. All it does is create fear in people. Spend time improving yourself and it will all work out.

  • Yeah :D

  • THAT'S what I'm talking about! We need to HELP OUR NEIGHBORS .. set up a guard and not let banks steal people's property.

  • Nice thought Brother! However, it doesnt work that way! Protect your family and take care of them! We have voted for people to take care of us and they have taken to the banks! Just dont vote and you will see a different side of what is really going on! No politician or his family thrown out of their home by a bank, that I can guarantee! The Banks own the world Brother! Enjoy the slavery, otherwise its total bloodshed and Im not willing to mop up my family in the streets! Right On!

  • ye buht all of u peepl r causing this thing that we might go back into, if u keep on buying stuff, people will get more money, the shops will grow and hire more people, and we'll be back!! u jus hav ta buy stuffs!

  • A very poignant story my friends.

Looks as if history is repeating itself.

    Thank you for the film.

  • if were not careful, were goin back in the same way we did back then.

  • My grandparents on both sides told me about people passing thru coming by thier homes asking for something to eat.

My grandparents were survivers, thrifty, creative and unselfish. They never turned anyone away. I have a St.Christopher given to my mother when she was 4 by a boy ten yrs.old that my grandmother had fed. My father said, he wore patches on top of patches but so did everyone else. They used newspaper to stuff in the cracks of the house, some winter mornings snow was on thier bed.

  • @Vearlsriver are they stilll alive? if yes, will you ask them how they felt when the dustbowl depression hit! i'm studying that in school!

  • In some years maybe less, we'll face that time once again i fear.

Or to be honest i dont care whats going to happen, i'll take it all as an adventure.

  • Awesome! Like the way you think! Enjoy it! Society will fall it is just like the seasons, This planet will take care of itself! We are facing a change of evolution of the human mind! NO DOUBT! Im kinda glad we are seeing the change in are lifetime, I accept it! Eat Breath Sleep! Pretty Simple!

  • Yep. People has just getting used to a house, married, two children a dog and a cat and two cars. That is the most peoples dream in the modern world, they fear what's going to happen, and i dont blame them, but i'm a little different. I would love to be without anything, i know maybe if i was standing there suddenly without anything i would be lost, but i dont know, It's just a longing inside of me.

Might be the tramp in me.

  • My granny was in the great depression a long time ago. She had to eat gum off of the road... and she had got some bread... Some one took the bread from her and she beat his butt!!! she told me the story.. and it wasnt very funny or fun to hear... its a sad time. And we almost all are going thru the great depression... Stores are closing.. a lot of people are in debt.
