  • Like Hedwig, I have learned the hard that "Good things come to those who wait." This song makes me smile and sing along! =D

  • this is still so inspiring,. wow,. i love this song,.

  • Hedwig rocks!!!

  • I was watching this movie and my uncle was like "What the fuck is this GAY ASS SHIT!!" and got up to change it and i was like nope. (He was Blitzed)

I got up and pushed his ass back on the couch so i could finish watching.. He fell asleep. I Changed my fingernail color from black to red.

  • @stupidtapeworm that's the spirit! amazing!

  • This reminds me of an Elton John song, but I like hedwig's voice a bit more XD

  • His voice..gah, makes me fuzzy all over. He should sing more.

  • LOLOL the poor lightbulb. on the other hand, he's awesome at shimmying :P

  • This song describes the feelings I feel when i dress in drag. I just feel like a different person. :) Until I turn back into myself... :P

  • AMO LA OBRA DE ARTE QUE ES ESTA CINTA Y LA MUSICA ES MERECEDORA DE UN MILLON DE OVASIONES, FELICIDADES, NO SE DETENGAN SIGAN CREANDO...

  • What do I call Hedwig? Him or her? I don't know!

  • @TastyQQQs I always call Hedwig "her" at the beginning/middle of the movie and then "he" at the end. Lol.

  • @TastyQQQs The other person who replied to you has a good idea. I have seen some discussions of the movie that state Hedwig is not in fact transgendered since he went through his surgery not because he felt like a woman, but to escape a situation. So, he is technically transsexual, but not "transgendered" if that makes sense. A purely physical thing. The ending is him coming to terms with the loss of his penis, and Tommy [and maybe control of his past creations, too] :)

  • I love Hedwig!

This storyline is my bible forever.

  • I hate musicals! But a very very few like this one, are the exception! Interesting story, well acted and not boring at all (like common musicals)

  • Good things come to those who wait Hedwig! ;)

  • He's so pretty :A

  • @broadwaycakes I think John Cameron Mitchell makes a better looking woman than a man.

  • When my sister brought me hedwig & told me what it was about I really wasn't interested in seeing it, but after watching it I'd have to say it's one of the better movies I've seen in quite awhile.

Felicidades.

  • OMG I love Hedwig. He is so hot.

  • Brilliant

  • It cracks me up that Yitzhak's ending lyrics are subtitled. I always thought that "do do do" was universal.

  • I couldn't help but sing along to the karaoke.

  • I'm a girl but Hedwig makes me wanna get a wig =)

  • "The Germans are a pacient people...and good things comes to those who wait"

That sentence and her face are great

  • God I love this movie. When I was told what the movie was about, I was like "eh, a movie about transexuals?". When I actually saw the movie I was serious astounded by the amazing story and music

  • @keith11689 That's because it isn't just a movie about transsexuals. It's a movie about a person; people.

(Not that I'm accusing you of thinking transsexuals/transgendered aren't people x.x)

  • this is my favourite song in the whole world!!! :O <333

  • Fav part 4:38

  • EVERY Queen Needs 2Hear This Song! XD

  • Awesome!!

  • The movie is awesome but the soundtrack alone is Spectacular.

  • Suddenly I'm Farrah Fawcett on TV! you go Hedwig

  • I'm amazed that 13 people on the planet dislike this. What is your damage, oh lonely 13?

  • love this song great movie!

  • is the male singer a drag king? cause he has a very girly voice...

  • @franvi77 yes the guy singing is a female. it becomes more obvious in the actual movie. :)

  • @franvi77 The log hair guy with a beard s in fact a women and the female voice is her`s

  • Fave song in this musical.

And I LOVE Hedwig, even as a straight male I'm not afraid to call him/her hot. :-)

Peccato!!!!!!!!

  • take me Hedwig..xxxx

  • what IS the song playing at the beginning of the clip?

"wear it up, let it down" refiere al pelo y quiere decir "ponlo para ariba, dejalo suelto."

  • Love.

  • Great song, great movie....

  • Hedwig is Bad Ass, she overcomes all that makes her half a woman, Anyone who feels their life in the doldrums needs only to draw inspiraration from Hedwig. ::)))

  • Great rock musical, i recommend Short Bus but i warn you its not a musical and its another John Cameron Mitchell movie and everything in it is real so dont watch with kids and dont watch with ppl who are not comfortable with sex. its good tho. but i love hedwig.

  • I love how you can hear the Tommy Gnosis singer at around 3:42 and it's so sad that I can relate to these songs XD

  • Whigs, Make-ups, and gender confusion is a formula to build an 'inner wall'. This movie is about mental slavery via the dis-enchantment & confusion of enforced gender identites in Western Cultures.

In Asia, they have a similiar cultural trend, but it can be described as 'genderless' as opposed to androgynous.

  • @StevenKellyBelly In the movie, his interal "wall" is broken. He walks naked down an alley. Hard to explain if you haven't seen the movie. Thats why the berlin wall is a significant factor in the movie.

And well if you think about it, the Orients are experiencing the same mistakes of 'genderless' old Lemuria, the Occidents the mistakes of fallen Atlas.

  • @StevenKellyBelly Writing something like this, you think you'd realize how offensive the term "the Orients" is...

  • @jantrcrz

Orient really isn't that awful of a word. In certain instances and how someone says it...yeah it can be offensive.

  • @jantrcrz - context is everything. stevenkellybelly used "orients" along with "occidents" and "old lemuria" aka archaic terms. getting offended out of context like that makes the entire concept of language sensitivity look reactionary and keeps the mainstream from taking progressives seriously

  • I was 11 when I saw this, I didn't understand a thing but I was absolutely enthralled. It was probably the music that got to me haha.

  • @DrKirstie i frikin love this movie i watch it all the time. great music.

  • @DrKirstie I wish I had seen this at 11. It would have answered so many questions!

  • @TheCherryBomber1 Oh ikr, well when I saw it I didn't really understand he was a guy who was a girl, I just liked it lol and it didn't bother me.

  • I still don't understand why she kicks out that one light bulb :|

  • @6400loser Dont question Hedwig -.-

  • @6400loser i have a feeling it was a mistake they just left in because the rest of the shot went well and they didn't want to retake it. Either that or the bulb looked at her funny :P

  • as a hetero sexual male i just have to say

  • is pretty

  • I really think this movie is the bet way fitting someone like me

  • @DaveBritish why? do you have a 1 inch mound of flesh where your penis used to be? where your vagina never was?

  • @Dukky yes, it's sort of hole and sort of flesh

  • she is beutiful. this movie is a catharsis. luv!

  • This is an awesome song from the movie, but I would have to disagree and say The Origin of Love, and Midnight Radio are the best songs out of the movie. They bring tears to my eyes and give me the shivers. John Cameron Mitchell is the best actor for this role. He is absolutely amazing.

  • @Ravenheart486250 and Sugar Daddy

  • this is the best song from the movie

  • just wach it last nhight it is amazing i love it hape to by it

  • This song is superb, i love it !

  • who plays the drummer

  • Yeah, I love how cheery/funny he is :D

  • @VJTOMYAZ His name is Micahel Aronov.

  • La cancion se llama "Wig in a box" No Makeup.

  • I like the movie versions of the soundtrack so much better than the actual soundtrack version but can't seem to find them anywhere.. yay YouTube.. this is one of the few songs I had to listen to for a few times to like, but now that I've done that, it's close to being one of my favorites. In fact, I think all of the movie's songs are my favorite..

  • this movie is my happy thought. :}

  • @violateyourfaith the movie is a masterpiece, but you really have disturbed happy thoughts ... :)

  • That outfit with the white boots is brilliant.

  • i'm not sure if the original musical is still being performed, but if any of you get an opportunity to ever go to it GO!!!!

  • Occasionally There is a production company that this about once a year in Portland.....but i cant remember the name..... :(

  • i believe it is, from what i last heard they have 8 places around the united states playing hedwig (one of which is a girl idk how that one would be :P)

  • Living my dream =D

  • omg the music in this film is stunning :D I LOVE the film and the soundtrack <3

  • raw emotion.

  • I love, love this movie.

  • i don't even remember how i got on youtube looking up songs from Hedwig, but i'm glad i did! i was in such a shitty mood, but this made me feel infinitely better! *orders movie off of Amazon*

  • I thought so ^^

    Saluditos!

  • comentarios con información que bien

  • is that a dude or a chick?

  • does it matter?

  • The character is a bit of both; the actor is a male.

  • I love this scene, but it's not from the original edit. Which is fine, but it's totally different! I swear!

  • How is this different? I think you're thinking about the Polyphonic Spree remake.

  • i love the scene "ok, everybody"

  • This movie is so seamlessly beautiful. My brother recommended it to me after I watched RHPS and became obsessed with that. One thing I couldn't help but notice, though, and it's not really a bad thing. Just sorta interesting. As gorgeous and dolled-up Hedwig usually is, I find it odd that she doesn't shave her underarms. In RHPS, Frank Furter didn't either, though he was more masculine than Hedwig. Still, kinda interesting. :)

  • Yes, I noticed the same thing. I've always wondered why and my reasoning is that she cannot never let go of being a guy, even though she dresses as a girl and goes by a girl's name.

And also, RHPS is awesome :D As is Hedwig of course

  • the most shattering and powerful scene in the film...well, there are certainly others, but this scene is so hilarious and sad at the same time.....brilliant!

  • I don't know how many times ive watched this movie....

... and still get excited by it every time...

  • Ditto ^_^

  • i like angry inch

  • Years ago I saw the trailer in movie theaters and thought I would hate this film. Last week I watched it on Netflix because it was recommended to me by my previous movie selections. Now I can say that my life can be divided into pre-Hedwig and post-Hedwig. For the past week I've been obsessed with the story, the songs, the acting, everything. I think it's the best movie I've ever watched. Pure genius!

  • Wow, that's almost exactly my experience! I had rented the movie a few years ago and it didn't really make much of an impression. Then I watched it a few nights ago (through Netflix; based on a recommendation). Then I watched it again! I love everything about this movie now!

  • Comment removed

  • UUUH YA! My cat's name is HEDWIG!...HE IS GOING ON 9!...A friend gave him to me shortly after the film came out and he had just gotten his JUNK cut off...so it was only appropriate!
