Another weird glitch I found was if you hit 'reset' the moment you got attacked by the spider, then the game would start over but the noise of the spider running would keep going until you scored 1,000+ points and the music started. *lol*
Wow, the heaven thing is actually real?! I remember my cousin telling me about this like 20 years ago and at this point I assumed he was just pulling my leg!
I love this game. I agree the jumping in this version is awkward though. The Atari 800/5200 and Commodore 64 versions have much better jumping, but I still like this version a lot.
Yes! Once you get up to glitch heaven it's possible to travel even higher and you end up back at bottom. Google: "hidden levels of mountain king atari 2600" for instructions on this.

I still have nightmares about the jump mechanics in this game. There were a lotta flung joysticks under the sofa over this game.

Yeah, if you jump up and to the left and do a specific, carefully planned jump you will go to Glitch Heaven...or something like this. :P
