I have never in this lifetime seen anyone take a draw like that with his elbow pointed straight in the sky. You can't even get a stick blade flat on the ice in that position. Again, do the math.

I was watching "On The Record" and one of the guys was like "typical Flyers, blah he's lucky he didn't get more" and another guy was saying how the Flyers got screwed in this, and if it were another team, or another player did this, the suspension wouldn't have happened, BUT since it happened on Bettmans pride and joy team, Cindy Crosby's team, all hell has to break lose.

If its that much of a dive the refs will call it. As a player your taught not to be put in that situation obviosly the flyers were just frusterated there a mediocer team in a great conference. Drawing penalties is part of the game but Diving is not, obviously in PItt you all have different ways of playing cause you all do dive. It was a message, they deserved the suspension and fine... but in the Flyers defense, it could have been avoided had the refs done a good job. Before the puck is dropped Talbot's foot is under his legs... the Pens get away with some stuff that is mind blowing. Crosby/Malkin will never get suspended for things 3 times as bad... and this might be "crying" but I know a lot of people will agree with me from outside of Philly.

It's obvious here that barely any of the Flyer fans have played hockey at any level.
He never kills penalties or takes face-offs, so do the math right there on the intent.
Second of all, when you get hit with a butt end in the ear/face/head when you're not expecting it, it stuns you for a second. I have never in this lifetime seen anyone take a draw like that with his elbow pointed straight in the sky. You can't even get a stick blade flat on the ice in that position. Again, do the math.

I am a Pens fan. Normally, I would say that should not warrant a suspension, except that the league told every team at the beginning of the playoffs that they would suspend players for "message sending" if the outcome of the game is already decided.
