  • Amazing! I can't believe this is the first time I've heard this. My faith in music has been restored. Bravo!

  • wonderfull

  • Is that a guitar an electric viola da gamba or anything else?

  • @Piccinels its called oud in arabic but its mainly used in the middeleast ... in both arabic and non arabic countrys ... :)

  • @0loveI0music tnx :D

  • I'm amazed. absolutely wonderfal... from Macedonia... LOVE&PEACE

  • This was originally an Urdu film song by Naheed Akhtar. Niyaz has given another interesting twist. Nice....

  • Holy Allah - This is a song of a true warrior.

  • Ni idea que dice la letra, ni de que trata, pero es impactante. ¡¡Me encanta!!!

  • il n y a rien a ajouter :)

    ez Qurban

  • Elle est unique!!!! Je l'adore!!!!

  • really good song... nice to listen too..

    Relaxing too

  • It is a fusion of the ancien and the modern, the East and the West, it is one great song of the human Soul, its longings, its joys, its pains,

and its calling to the Divine.

Each string plucked, every drum beat, and every word sung is enamored wholly and purely with Love. THANKSSSSSSSS

  • I fear you are correct my friend. Especially with that new lunatic regime in Israel.

  • great

  • If you read this, Niyaz, thank you. Your work quiets fear with beauty, morphs apprehension into curiosity. The world needs more artists like you, especially now.

    Thank you.

  • Fuck you Bush! You will not conquer Iran!

  • Anyone have a translation? Preferably of all her songs? Can't find them on Google.

  • Not translation per se, but I was able to roughly transcribe the words for the song Hunt; not that I understood everything I wrote, but to some extend it is intelligible. You want it?

  • rough -

    Allahi Allah

"Say Allah Allah/ Don't hurt another/He's the Lord of the World/Say His name over & over"

"Those who make ornaments of lies/erase truth/Those who lie/encounter hardship"

"Walk the ways of truth/don't hurt another/Say the name of the One/Lord of the World"

    Instrumental

"Broken mirrors can be mended/Broken hearts cannot/[Undecipherable verse]/When love's trust is broken/Don't be cruel/Don't hurt another/Say the name of the One/Lord of the World"

  • "Broken Mirrors can be mended, but broken hearts cannot be put together again

When the trust of love is broken, don't be cruel

Dont hurt another, Take (Say) the name of the One/Lord of World (Universe)."

:) I just added the undecipherable verse you mentioned, aside from that looks good :)

  • Does anyone know the name of the intrument he is playing at the beginning of the song, it sound amazing! thanks.

  • I think it's a Gheychak.

  • not sure, mini chelo?

  • It is a Guitarviol.

  • This is the first time I am discovering these amazing artists. Is she an Iranian immigrant or Iranian national?

  • THE UNIVERSE IS YOURS SIL (*_*

  • Awesome, Storm. Beautiful.

    Thankx for turning me on.

  • o ilk girişte turkain in çaldığı alet dibe soktu beni.

    budur..

  • this group is amazing.....i can't wait until their new cd comes out!.....

  • This is the song Allahi Allah. If you get a chance to see them live, take it. They were amazing.

  • I loved that song. Is Niyaz the name of the song or of the singer?

  • Azam Ali is the singer I believe the band are Nyaz

  • no; niyaz is the name of her new album

  • sorry; it's also her band's name =)

  • Bu ne ses Allahım,,,,

  • she is lovely hippy :)

  • perfect

  • It is pretty interesting to note this. Also, I am surprised as to how you forget Asian - Indian Islamic music.

There are many muslims artists playing sarod, sitar, tabla, sarangi, drums, flute and what not that is common with the spiritual islamic music.

    Thanks,

    XETA

  • I dont understand why she is banned from returning to Iran, she should be a TREASURE there not a criminal. Love her voice, just angelic.

  • Saw her with her band at Sunfest in London, ON. She's such an amazing artist.

  • lovely,,,,

  • My friend Arij translated this song for me. I really love the live intro version of this song!

  • Hello, do you stil have that translation? could you please share it with me? It whould be so great from you! Please!

  • Beautiful voice.

  • ALL her songs are so inspirational and i could have them in my background day and night all year long. she is truly a gifted with he heavenly voice, not to mention the lyrics used.

  • This song's title is "Allahi Allah".

One of my favorite song! とっても素敵な歌です。

  • I need to know what say this song. Can someone help me?

  • your user name says it all "sightLESS", very ignorant of you to make such comments.

  • And what of all your heavy-metal musicians, Sightless111? I think that you just love to hate.

  • hehehe..you are mad! :)

  • Beautiful reproduction of an old Pakistani Urdu Film song. Excellenet job.

  • Azam is amazing fluent in both Urdu and Farsi. What's interesting is when she sang the Pakistani folk song Allah hee Allah, she sang it in Urdu down to the Pakistani accent of the language. When she sang "The Hunt" in Farsi, she sang it right down in an iranian accent. That is what's amazing about Azam. She's not an amature immitating Irani or Pakistani cultures. Her soul owns both cultures (and probably many more). Much respect to her.

  • Hmm. She is Iranian. Raised in India and residing in the US. And the song is not in Hindu, but Urdu, I think. And it is not exactly a Sufi song.

  • cool my dad just got an autograph album of them! i wonder how much its worth?

  • cool my dad just got an autograph album of them! i wonder how much its worth?

ABOUT 3 GOATS AND 2 OF YOUR ENGLISH POUNDS

  • I saw Niyaz at the Trocadero in Philadelphia and they were amazing. I hope to present them in Arden, Delaware next year. -Scott Davidson

  • And why is she singing in Urdu if it is a persian song? It's an islamic gazelle in urdu...

Allahu allah diya karo - say only Allah Allah....

dukh na kisi ko diya karo - don't harm anyone

Djo doenya ka maliki hey - he is the king of the world

Naam usi ka liya karo - Only appreciate his name

now tell me, what is not islamic about this?

  • It is not exactly an Islamic song, it is a traditional sufi poem, the sufism is the mysticism of Islam... The sufism is a way of life full of tolerance, peace and love. So... the song tells us about the devotional idea about Allah. It is very beautiful.

  • According to many Muslim scholars, Sufism is spirituality and spirituality and Islam are inseparable. To say that Sufism is about peace, love, and tolerance, and Islam isn't makes absolutely no sense.

  • this chick came to our school! they were AWESOME!

  • LUCKY!

  • I didn't see the movie 300, but did they use this particular song in it? Or did she sang another song? Because if they have used this song, that is really bad, because in the time of King Xerxes, there wasn't anything called the Islam. And this song is an islamic song...

  • What the movie doesn't tell us, but what the history tells us, is that afer this happening, the Persians did conquer from the Greeks. And years later, Alexander the Great, took revenge on them and conquered a great part of Asia. But even a great king as Alexander was intriguid (i think i wrote this wrong) by the Persian culture. No matter how they showed the Persians in the movie 300, I think most of the people know how rich the old Persian culture was and how rich the new Persian culture is.

  • Ya, Persian culture was great: prior to Islam. By the way, Frank Miller is a frail nerd.

  • Persian culture was great after Islam too. If it hadn't been for Persianate culture and its influence on Iran, Central Asia, and Northern India (and to a marked degree in the Ottoman realms) much of Islamic culture would be a pale thing.

  • Neither a simple movie, nor the Sjariah there can change this beautiful culture.

(For the record, I'm not Persian)

  • I love her voice and I love this band. -Scott

  • Azam Ali is allowed to do whatever she wants, she also has to make a living, and I am sure she recognized that this movie is meant to be fiction not a realistic portrayl. sheesh.

  • ok, Not that I saw the movie, or that I am interested in it, or defending it, but you know the movie is based on the GRAPHIC NOVEL written by Frank Miller, which was meant to be an EMBELLLISHMENT of the fight between the greeks and perisans. And was written from the perspective of the Greeks. Its not meant to be fact, its fiction!

  • You cannot say she's a racist because she only sings a song for this FANTASY movie. You have a materialistic view on the world and the world doesnt quite work like that. If you understand persian she has an open letter on her website(azamalimusic)that addresses all these matters.

  • The movie is a fantasy. It has nothing to do with this song. She's a great singer with a lovely voice and she loves her motherland also.

  • The movie is a fantasy, dude. It has nothing to do with this song.

  • now this spiritual!

  • i like her voic and my name is niyaz ali cool

  • Azam & musicians: respect! ... you are so special in this hectic world ... thank U..

  • One big reason people criticize the "philosophies" of the middle east, its b/c some of the people there are so backward and are trapped in 7th century thinking, where women are shit and it is ok to hit and violate them! And in Iran, the people there are unhappy with the abusive theocracy b/c it represses everyone. I am sure they would be quite "critical" of some of the middle eastern "philosophies" aka "BULLSHIT".

  • hat the fuck is your problem? And its funny you assume I am white. I am of South Asian descent, idiot. And its funny you talk about whites being sexually dominant. When it is in the muslim world, where there are numerous exampes of rape, abuse and violations of Women's rights. Where women "must" wear full body coverings, where women need 4 male witnesses to accuse a man of rape(otherwise she is stoned to death).

  • Most of you posting here already know her, but to her new fans from this video, check out her solo career as Azam Ali and her original group Vas. I want to see her live so bad!!! thanks for this video!!!

  • could die for this voice

  • I like this version ALOT better than the one on their album. :D

one of the few bands where their live performance is just as good if not better than their recorded music. I love the instrumentations.

  • It's fantastic. Beautiful voice, it's soo soft, and restful. And the lady... her beauty is a miracle.

  • Ooooooh, Allahi Allah! I love that song. Thanks for uploading this video; her music is beautiful.

  • niyaz ederim ki bendeki yerleri her kalp te olur tanıştırdıı için mercan dedeye teşekurler...

  • lovely and soothing.

i thought i had all her albums, guess not :)

  • I'm a dumb white American, so I may be a bit off on my facts, but from what I was told it is an old song about God. Alahi Alla means there is no god but God. I think it's in Arabic since my friend speaks Arabic and Urdu. I know she's Persian or Iranian (depending if you want to confuse us dumb Americans)

  • The song is in Urdu, classical Urdu to be precise which is widely spoken in Pakistan and the Muslim population in India. Allahi Allah literally means, 'God, only God'.

  • The message of the song brings tears to my eyes.

  • their live performance at BabylonIstanbul was perfect, too. A highly reccommended yet underrated group...

  • Its an electric version of a viol da gamba, not a cello. Cool instrument, indeed. Great band too.

  • hey, i really would like to know where did you get this video? is there a Niyaz dvd or smth? cause i want it! hahaha

thank you so much for uploading it.... upload some more!

    greetings

  • She has a beautiful voice!

  • It's sad that such a beautiful voice can't be heard in her native country of Iran. Her music is banned there from what I hear,

  • from what I know from an Iranian friend of mine, she was quiet famous there for a while. She's not allowed to hold concerts there though because its against the law for that, but she held one in Turkey.

  • Banned? What on earth for?

  • I know(at least according to a persian friend of mine who i knew years ago), that persian dancing is banned there, b/c I guess the woman is "indecent", or whatever bs. She herself has to be careful about going back, so I would imagine its the same thing for her and her singing style. Dunno how strict it is for her music(maybe b/c she doesnt wear the full body covering, and the head scarf)

  • alahi allah

  • Fantastic group. Another terrific band from 6 Degrees Records. The entire album is amazing.

  • The entire album is amazing.

    Complately true ;)

  • great video. interesting music

  • omg i love that song...lol a mutated cello :)

  • The end of complete
