Your video is very useful and also zoom ins / zoom outs make it even more clear.

@riches5us Hmm.. usually the shortcut for text is "T" but "Ctrl T" should bring up the transform tool otherwise you can go to "Edit", "Free Transform".

To get a brush that will feather out an image, all you have to do is choose the brush tool and in the properties bring the hardness down "0" to create a soft brush which will make a feather type effect. If you are looking for a brush that has feathers, just Google it, they're are many differnt sites to get brushes free.
