@rmg1035 full choke will constrict a pattern (tighter) than a modified choke. i.e. you get less spread and more density to a shot pattern on a full choke. Thanks for watching.
4/5. Wish you had a better quality cam. Great tread, (meaning no umms and uhhs) i really enjoyed ur vid, great discription, hope to watch some of ur future vids, because i can really understand ur explinations, plus i kno u kno what your talkin about, the hair cut says it all, plus, correct me if im wrong, but if thats a 1911 on ur hip, i would enjoy a vid about that gun. Yeah, its my fav, and is gonna be my first purchased hand gun. 2 more years!!! thanks for the vid.
Do brand new Shotguns in the Box sealed come with 3 different chokes. i don't understand don't new shotguns come with a standard choke or do they come with none, and those have to be applied? Can someone please answer me im gonna be receving a Mossberg 535 ATS
@SSSDiaz7 not all do I know my remington only came with a modified choke tube. But browning bps came with 4 different chokes and a beneili usually comes with 3
Bot a bad video, however, its worth mentioning that there are several different types of "shot" used in a scatter gun. Most common is likely lead shot, however, in Canada where I live lead is prohibited when hunting waterfowl. As a result steel shot has become very popular and when using steel shot, generally a Full Choke is dangerous to the shooter and the firearm. A modified choke would be the "tightest" choke that I would recommend when shooting steel shot.
Thanks for the video. So how do you know which choke to use? Trial and error? BTW, you have that "State Trooper" look. Are you an officer on a police force?
The choke that best suits your needs would be based on the distance you plan to engage your target. At this distance you can try each shotgun choke at a range and see what spread pattern each one have. Then you pick the one that would work best for your need.
if i use a deer shot (slug) is there any chance that the chokes would break? 5/5 for the vid and thanks i learned alot your should become a teacher or just make more vids on things most people don't know about like this vid
Is your slug a sabot? In any case, I don't think you would "break" a choke. But typically speaking if you're going to be shooting a lot of slugs, I would just opt for the cylinder choke (which is a straight tube). The best deer shotgun I've used actually had a rifled shotgun barrel option, such as the Remington 1187.
Useful video. Thanks.

Dumb question.. (I'm new to shotguns). can you still shoot the gun without a choke in there, or would that damage the gun?
screamineagle91 1 year ago
@screamineagle91 Yes, but expect you shot to be all over the place. No damage what so ever.
noah3824 1 year ago
@screamineagle91 it will damage. Thee barrel is alot thinner where the choke goes and you risk splitting the barrel!

Fantastic video. Are there chokes that cause problems with different types of projectiles?
kcbrez009 2 years ago
Perhaps there some chokes that negatively impact different shot sizes? none that I have run across.
