if renault put their car "singing" why bmw can warmup their car? they change engine every 2 races they dont care about the engine they just want to win. with thus warmup they can check pressures, leaks or put the engine at the right temperature. the engine have the ideal temperature to give is best. in normal cars is just for show off. in normal cars u dont need to rev it just need to put the engine working for 20 segs and then u can do your trip.

I think you're missing the point of an engine warm up. People think its from when the vehicle is first started. You try to simulate what the engine will go through on the track to see what will possibly break or what concerns you need to address. Nothing about this is for a daily driver. Daily driver are for driving. A true race engine is for racing. Simple.
We check our engines for a number of things when we do warm ups. First of all the engines we build and run are for one or two races. We check intake air flow, oil pressure, oil flow, oil temp, cam advances, cam retards, fuel pressures, fuel flow all at different rpm ranges. Warm ups are not necessarily starting from a COLD engine, rather a performance check of engine chacteristics at different RPM ranges before a race. Your everyday driver has rev limiters to protect people from themselves.
About the warm up procedure. Most teams, before starting the engine circulate the cooling water through a warmer that pumps hot water to warm all the engine to the same temperature. The warm up that we often see, the reving, is mainly to warm up the oil to get it to the right viscosity.
You're a fucking moron...and after looking at your site, have ZERO experience with race engines. If one of my crew started my $250,000 Cup car...ran it for 10 seconds then shoved it into gear and started driving it....I'd put a bullet in his head. Its that simple. I guarantee you that the BMW techs fired this engine and let it idle for some time before working the throttle. Race engines have huge oil reservoirs...and that much oil takes a while to thin.
Well, I am not sure if the tried to bring up the temp like this is just because M3 can not idle when it is cold. About the BT52 engine? I just can not comprehend the 4 cylinder 1.5 litres engine can pump out that kind of power. I thought the cylinder head should be blow off by the time it started.... or the push rod were buckle,

I have this car in forza i love it, im making an E46 Mr gtr now, the red and black advan one. Its coming allong nicely, just gotta match the hp to the real one, and the accel etc, but that can be done with some tuning :)

That's called efficiency. And who goes out "mudding" anyway? The M3 was made for the track. And that's where cars shine the most. Even your great Ford tests their cars more at the Nurburgring than they do in your backyard.
think about it, power is power. If i have 502 cubic inches with 400 horsepower, and you have 200 cubic inches with 300 horsepower, i still have more power.

Using your example, your 502 cubic inches would be producing 0.79hp/cubic inch, where else the 200 cubic inches would be producing 1.5hp/cubic inch. Simply increasing the displacement to 267 cubic inches would already match the power of the 502 cubic inch engine. A 502 cubic inch engine with that kind of efficiency would produce more than 700hp!
a real life example... My neighbor has a dodge ram SRT-10. it has an 8.3L V10 with 505 hp and 540 foot pounds of torque. It's a 5000 pound vehicle that can do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. all stock.
Now the chevy 502 crate engine puts out more than 400 hp i was just saying that because alot of foreign engines have better efficiency but it doesn't matter because the engines are so small they still dont have as much power. Potential isn't worth shit if u dont put it to use and make a bigger engine.
@JudgeSteelflax But most foreign engines were built for domestic use, and not for performance like the SRT-10 range. The ones that are however, like the BMW ///M engines, use that efficiency to reduce engine weight. Big heavy engines with alot of power usually don't churn out good lap times. Because we all know weight is the bane of track cars. So efficiency would produce a better power to weight ratio, which at the end of the day wins races.
In america we build cars for the drag strip. But that dodge has G-force tires on it and the spoiler puts on 126 lbs of downforce at speeds upwards of 40 mph. That's good for a track.

BT52 is only one example of Euro engineering, there's many F1 engines that producing unbelievable power and performance even from NA engines.
From technology aspect 1500 bhp from 1.5L Turbo is nothing special, but 1000 bhp from 3.0L naturally aspirated is fabulous. That's an engineering.

I have this car in forza i love it, im making an E46 Mr gtr now, the red and black advan one. Its coming allong nicely, just gotta match the hp to the real one, and the accel etc, but that can be done with some tuning :)

That's called efficiency. And who goes out "mudding" anyway? The M3 was made for the track. And that's where cars shine the most. Even your great Ford tests their cars more at the Nurburgring than they do in your backyard.

Using your example, your 502 cubic inches would be producing 0.79hp/cubic inch, where else the 200 cubic inches would be producing 1.5hp/cubic inch. Simply increasing the displacement to 267 cubic inches would already match the power of the 502 cubic inch engine. A 502 cubic inch engine with that kind of efficiency would produce more than 700hp!

a real life example... My neighbor has a dodge ram SRT-10. it has an 8.3L V10 with 505 hp and 540 foot pounds of torque. It's a 5000 pound vehicle that can do 0-60 in 4.6 seconds. all stock.
Now the chevy 502 crate engine puts out more than 400 hp i was just saying that because alot of foreign engines have better efficiency but it doesn't matter because the engines are so small they still dont have as much power. Potential isn't worth shit if u dont put it to use and make a bigger engine.

The ones that are however, like the BMW ///M engines, use that efficiency to reduce engine weight. Big heavy engines with alot of power usually don't churn out good lap times. Because we all know weight is the bane of track cars. So efficiency would produce a better power to weight ratio, which at the end of the day wins races.

In america we build cars for the drag strip. But that dodge has G-force tires on it and the spoiler puts on 126 lbs of downforce at speeds upwards of 40 mph. That's good for a track.

And I was driving an E34 530i with nothing but a Conforti chip, cat back exhaust and enclosed air filter. So maybe I was pushing 250-260HP. When I get my E46 M3 it's all over but the shouting for you trying to race class with a mud flinger.
