  • You might think about changing the title to "Types of Lanyards" or something like that... You didn't even start showing how to attach them until 7 minutes in.

  • i disagree frank,, he should change the title to rambling on and on and on and on and on.......

  • Very cool keep it up sir.

    Cheers

    Ben =)

  • @cutlerylover so you're a postal worker who's hoarding weapons? I'm sure that won't make anyone nervous ...

  • @cutlerylover love your vids man theyre great for info.

  • Lol, for Christmas i made a wrist lanyard for my new Surefire flashlight out of an old shoe lace.

  • haha, I did the same for a knife. For some reason boots I buy come with two pairs of laces. One in each color so I just used the extras to learn how to make lanyards.

  • Nice, it was a really old shoe that i used, unfortunately ive taken the lanyard off since, it was making my SureFire smell... yeah...

  • hot barrel.......u need to get a life man searious u go around flaming people and thats all ur life get a life at least he has a life unlike u..........o wait u do bein a retard

  • @xc1d Appologising because you realise you may have pissed off a postal worker. xD

  • is this a hobby of yours making vidoes?

or are you acutally trying to help people?

  • the only reason I make these videos is bcause people ask for them and they greatly appreciate every one...

  • PEANUT LIGHTER!!!! those things are awesome

  • Pickpockets could soooo easily steal your keys if you have a lanyard hangin outta there. Great idea though, but if you're walking around in a crowded area it's probably best to just stuffit in yo pockits! hehehe

  • if you just lookign for info google is your freind...

  • if he did it wouldnt be a cutlery lover - interesting, informative, nice to whittle a stick while listening to- video ^^

  • hmm.

I'm making lanyard these days, maybe a good idea to view his videos while doing that.

  • can you do a revew on the peanut lighter if u alredy do just pm me

  • I will have a review VERY soon..just got the new split pea as well, the shorter cut peanut lighter...

  • cool vid but with a title like "how to attach a lanyard". it could have just been from 7:15-7:40. As is, its more of a just for fun vid than anything instructional..

  • are you going to do any videos about the peanut lighter? im thinking about getting one because its smaller that a zippo

  • yea same here! i've been looking all over for one. Do you have a country comm one? But they don't ship out of the US..

  • Those lanyards are stiff, so aren't they hand weapons? I forgot the exact name but there are videos on how to use them as weapons.

  • I liek both, they are different lights for different purposes, I prefer Fenix because I like power full "AA" models and surefire only offers CR123 lgihts...go with Fenix if you want a small EDC light, but go with surefire if you want pure power!

  • yaaaa whats upppppp!!! da names are melmel and candy and we would rele apriciate it if peoples would look at our show we have two episodes ans more too come thanks!!!:-)

  • idk if anyone has mentioned this already but you could use a paperclip or something to guide the lanyard loop through the hole with ease.

  • Despite the simplicity of the topic, this video is educational and is relevant just by visually presenting what is possible with lanyards.

What have you done to share your knowledge with others?

  • nice comeback lol (im not being sarcastic )

  • thanks...I mean I dotn expect everyone to like everythgin I film, Im sure there is an amzing video on sewing on here somewhre but I could care less, lol that doesnt make that video bad though, know what I mean...

  • just keep doing what you've been doing and don't listen to anyone else

  • Hey CL, are lanyards also use to keep the hand from slipping(i.e, loop the hand through them for protection).?

I've seen them used for this purpose, just wondering.

  • Oops, sorry I didn't mean a "Lanyard".

Sorry 'bout that. But I've seen loops and knots and such tied and put through the little hole in the fixed blade and folding knives, and I've seen people loop paracord through them for securing the knife to your wrist or hand, much like what Cold steel uses during the testing of there knives.

If you know what I am talking about, I'd appreciate help!

Sorry, knife terminology hasn't been embedded into my memory yet, so I don't know very much off hand.

  • Yes your right, it also is used to prevent your hand from slipping onto the edge while usign it hard, both is a normal grip and even more so in a reverse grip in stabbign somethgin hard...

  • Ahh...damn. That is funny, I was right, but then I thought I was wrong and corrected myself!

But thanks, I am a bit freaked out about using my knives after an accident, so this makes me feel a lot better about using knives.

  • how do you end the lanyard?

  • Hello,Where did you get the cord end on the small grey lanyard in your video please.. Its the one with the glow end?? Thanks John from England.. Really enjoy your thoughts on video.Keep up the good work.

  • they were given to me I dont know where tio buy them but IM sure you can fidn them on ebay...

  • where do you buy the training knives?? 5*

  • eknifeworks sells soem coldsteel trainetrs, I got a fe recently and will have a video on them, $6 each on average...but for the one in this video I got a pair for $11 on ebay...

  • Thanks. I never knew what to do with those loop lanyards until now. I struggled for hours. Sometime simple is so illusive.

  • its just like box but its the other way you do it like this /

  • how do u make one like that orange one cuz ive seen them b4 ad they look cool so if any1 knows how to make it could they plz share of if u know wat kindof knot it is plz tell me

  • You cna learn how to braid that on a site called boondoggle...

  • u should realy tell us how 2 make these!!!

  • If I knew how I would, lol...I too want to know..Actually I saw how in other videos, but just can't get the hang of it...

  • dang forget the other question then cause these are what i wanted to no how to make

  • ok cool, Im glad the video it will help!

  • yea it does

  • what do you do for a living?(if you don't mind me asking)

  • Not at all, I work at my mail room (it is where the mail is held in my gated community)

It is sort of like a post office, but there we do not sell anything or provide an servises, I sort mail all day and deal with packages...My gated communtiy has about 4,000 homes in it, so there is plenty of mail and packages to sort and gve out...I work for my boss who has the postal contract, so on paper I am self employeed...

  • gated comunity, very posh, lol

  • lol, Well I am middle class, lower middle really, lol, so it is a stretch for my family for sure, but its not bad in here, mostly older people and retired folks...I moved from New Jersey where I lived my whole life, the reason ym family moved here is because it was cheaper with tazes and all that the where we were in Jersey...But there are still a little riff raff, lol, and certianly enough drama to keep everyone busy...lol

  • well,you buying 3 and 400$ knives,you wouldn't think so.lol

  • Well many ask, I am not rich by any means, lol...Infact I struggle with payign the bills and all, but I am lucy enough to be able to still live with my parents ( which doesn't bother me) But anyway I sort mail for my community of 4,000 lots, about 3200 or so have homes on them...I also work a windo where people pick up there packages...And I sometimes do deliveries for the post office, which is sepperate from what I normally do...

  • I have fenix p3d, it's just awesome. A little too big for poket though.

I love lainyards also, i have them all over the place:)

  • SWEET!!!!!!!!! I wanted to try a P3D but I sort of gave up on CR123 batts because of the danger involved, after reading a few threads at CPF abotu them venting I stuck to AA lights, lol, and sold my only surefire E2E and other CR123 lights...

  • CR123 can blow up or something?

they are also hard to find, expensive and they can't be shipped overseas

  • Yeah, there is so much energy n them they cna vent (posionous gas lets out) or even bow up/pop/catch fire...Reasons why they woudl do this is if thy get too hot, or if you add one thats empty with one thats full in the same light, even mixing brands can sometiems do it, if you drop one just toss it, call it a loss..They CAn be dangerous...All that ebign said, every simgle military offical in the US pretty mcuh uses a surefire or similar that tales these same CR123's...lol...So its a rare thing.

  • What I mean by rare is that maybe one in 1000 blow up for no reason...Many peopel still use them without failure, I just get nervous with them muyself from a personal experience...

  • thanks for the info. i'll keep these things in mind

  • the fenix e0 has a 12 hour runtime before it hits 50% light outout

  • Thank you very much for that bit of information, I appreciate it...Are you a CPF member? Just curious...

  • no im not a member of the cpf. im just a flashaholic that knows about all the facts from all the light from flashlightreviews (i have a photographic memory with numbers and random facts)

  • Oh ok, I woudl think someone as facinated by flashlights like you is not talking about them with other flashlight guys? Anyway, thanks for the info!

  • 5 stars, good topic, I bet this vid. is very helpful for beginners. The key chain with lanyard also makes a nice flail. And the lanyard part sticking out of the pocket, people will not know what you have at the other end inside the pocket, is it a knife, keys, flashlight? Where as to if you use a clip, they will probably be able to see what it is.

  • Thank you...I wish I knew how to braid all the nice looking ones so I can show how to do it, but I never was good at brading anything, lol...It woudl be nice to see more vids on youtube about lanyards and hw people use theirs...

  • Were can i get the peanut lighter?

  • Alot of places online, but a site called countycomm (dot com) has them too (they have a youtube accoutn with a few vids, and one on different peanut lgihters they offer...I buy from them because I always get a few other items with my order, like paracord, they have good prices on 550 paracord...Problem is the flat shipping charge is like $7...so maybe not worth it if you just want one lighter...Check ebay too...
