However it is a dialect because wolof is an oral language transmitted fromone generation to another.It can not be written or translate and neither has a dictionary and phonetics. Therefore, it would not be accurate to refer to it as a language. I can see where you're coming from though.....no offense salam!

Microsoft Windows is available in Wolof. In Seneweb forums, people are using Wolof in everyday writing. The colonizers called African languages "dialects" just so they could be disregarded - but change is underway, and Wolof will probably become the official language within 10 years or so. Its from Senegal.(W africa)

Le language is called wolof. Its the main dialect back home. There is about 30 different dialectes all together. The official language is french because of the colonisation. Glad u like it!
