@NameroZ Too bored to write a full reply. They have taken elements from all those genres. They aren't PURE gothic so they don't sound like Gothic bands. And Sepultura is Heavy Thrash. Progressive is essentially any band that hasn'y followed a formula of music but created their own (see Dream Theater). MCR are unique in their own way, I don't care if you hate them or find them gay, I just like their music. And metal IS a genre of music, it just has too many variations. It's like the mama-genre :P

@NameroZ Too bored to write a full reply. They have taken elements from all those genres. They aren't PURE gothic so they don't sound like Gothic bands. And Sepultura is Heavy Thrash. Progressive is essentially any band that hasn'y followed a formula of music but created their own (see Dream Theater). MCR are unique in their own way, I don't care if you hate them or find them gay, I just like their music. And metal IS a genre of music, it just has too many variations. It's like the mama-genre :P
