@bpshyk well to show this product is safe to drink from,if they want to prove it works drink from it, don't have poor people as test subjects every bio-filter video shows how to make one, but?! none of them drink from it they should drink what they preach.
@xXVeEtOXx no it has no desalinization capacity. As for metals, the process breaks down living contaminates. You could add a fine filter BEFORE the water enters the top of the filter.
It's so great to see such a simple solution to a hugely devastating and life-threatening problem (i.e. unclean drinking water). Samaritan's Purse is once again helping people in dire need without intentional discrimination.
I didnot correct all the typing errors so where i wanted to put out pipe is writen our pipe I suppose the ppahtogens that stick to the sand die later onfirst stick and then die from hunger and lack of light. as the out pipe goes fromthe bottom of the barrel up. rose macaskie.
@cross3chris what i saiid is so badly written, what sort of hurry was in when. It must go like this. the pathogens that stick to the sand die later on, first stick and then die from hungrer and lack of light. As the out pipe goes from the bottom of the barrel up to a tap that is at the level of the top of the sand only the depth of water above the level of the tap in the barrel will drain out of the barrel there's time for pathogens to die, water does not run straight in and out. .
I understand how it works what i dont know is if you have to throw away the sand and put in clean sand every so often. i suppose the pahtogens tha tstick in ht esand or to the sand die later. as the our pipe goes up to the level of the top of the sand the water that runs of is the amount of water you put in but coming from the bottom of the sand i suppose. the sand is always full of water to the level of the top of the pipe never empties below that level, i agan suppose. rose maccaskie
@bpshyk i dont want them to die i never said that. i want christians to stop telling 3rd world countries the god that is starving them loves them. and i do let love shine through. just not for the ignorant
@shidoink yes maybe if we did not have god who took people up to heaven we would be more careful about the people on earth, we would think they just have one lif ewe should make sure it does not stink. macaskie.
@bessarabia7 It is simple, all the material can be sourced in country, thus there is no shipping and the mould can even be made there too. Did that answer your question?
It seems that it would take time for the biological elements to die. I wonder how long the water would have to stay in the container in order for that to happen. ie; if that container held 20 gallons below the exit port, and it took several days to have bacteria eaten or die from lack of nutrients, then would the capacity be only a few gallons a day?
Not silent at all I guess I hit the post button too soon...
The gravel layer does 2 functions:
1) builds a hydrostatic head to help push the water down, then up the riser pipe.
2) It is an area where the water can sit and is not exposed to light or oxygen, therefore nothing can build-up or grow.
As you can see it is very simple and is increasing in popularity in underdeveloped countries. Thanks for your interest, please visit turnonthetap.ca for more info. and send the like to mor
God blessing is everywhere you just got to open your heart and you'll see the beautiful ways of life god give us all to peacefully live together :) !!
@pimpnoddy I used to say what you say but to say so has to do with focusing on good instead of on the terrible aroound. which is a bit mad. The problem with the holy is that they get up to some wicked things they fake miracles, they blacken even peoples fathers and mothers if they aren't christain, they seperate people from their families, telling them lies about their cultures,by not talking about the good things these look bad or diabolic ,I find the religiouse wicked. . rose macskie:
@pimpnoddy You can do that, there is lots of beautiful and it can be positive for people, psychology, to focus on it, just seeing bad is unhealthy. But focusing on the good can stop you fighting to reduce the bad we do. You can't stop hurracanes, just reduce them reducing global warming but you can change bad behavior like snobbism, machism etc., brutishness. Religions are often brutal, snobbish, you have to whatch their bad sides carefully instead of only seeing the good ones. rose macaskie.
@bpshyk actually i watched this video three times in a row and also do not hear if it is a particular type of sand it merely says many times "sand" so as adamson001 asked a further explaination would be nice to clarify this..thanks
@IXianGriffin Anohter video says you use 70 mesh sand. That is fine sand. You have to whatch lots of videos on sand filters to get a rounded picture of how they work. I can't find out how often you have to renew the sand or if you do. rose macaskie.
@rosemacaskie as I have seen on many is that one merely cleans the top every so often if it becomes really nasty, but replacing everything doesn't seem to be key....allowing the filtration sand to operate (active filtering area) kills / eats the new incoming bacteria and like. I do not know about which size sand... I am assuming just sand... a basic normal type most of us are all familiar with, because many places do not per se have a particular type of sand they can run out and buy
@rave208 We do use sand filters to clean water for modern cities in the west only they are very big, whole areas of ground. Hospitals use ultra violet rays, for special cases? In spain the water contains chlorine but I suppose that is put in after the water has been filtered though here the catchment area is big so they use water from resevoirs rather than filtered used water, so maybe they use chlorine for the cleanish resevoir water rather than to purify water. rose macaskie.
Well, thanks brutalsun, but if i'm requesting the video in a spanish version is to show this to thousands of person who doesn't speak it, read it or understand it. I do understand all the process of it, but it would be such a great tool for us in Latin America for all those who can't understand the language.
