Is there another version of this? because the kids at my sister's elementary sing it differently and they say something about eating jello or something like that and in the end they go back running to the house
Great now there teaching kids to go in a bear caves.#1 The title says bear hunt I would at least assume there would be a gun involved. But oh wait we cant say anything about guns to are kids we just need stories that tell them its alright to run in bear caves #2 Im pretty sure they tell you to remain calm and not to run away from bears
This is a childrens book right? So it IS meant to be silly, right? But NOOOO, there are always all these "overly smart" idiots that feel the need to make an analysis of every little thing. Here I'll give you some more arguments: 1-Who would take their children on a bear hunt? 2-What type of a mother would let her kids swim in a deep cold river or walk on a snow storm WITHOUT THE PROPER CLOTHES???? Please let me know if you criticise the logic of "The jungle book" or "Kung Fu Panda"
Yeah, the end is kind of awkward. Like if hiding and staying away from things you maybe fear is a solution. Could cause people to not face their fears. And they were after all on a bear hunt so what did they expect to find, so it seems a bit illogical.
The song reminds me a lot of a song by Swedish band "Mora Träsk" but that song is called "Tigerjakten" or "The Tiger Hunt" (can be found at v=_yoZjNvUIOk in a rather weird and Swedish version).
when children walk around a sleeping "bear' and say such kind of words: "in the bear's deep dark wood We're picking berries and mushrooms good, but the bear doesn't sleep but he roars and stomps his feet" the "bear wakes up, all the children run away. that who will be caught, becomes a "bear. )))
@lq0pl we've got the same game in Sweden called "Björnen sover" or "The bear is sleeping". It's about the bear not being dangerous as long as you don't disturb him but then it ends with him not being trustworthy and "the bear" catches someone who becomes the new bear.
This book has been and will be popular for many generations to come. But why would the bear chase them that far..and why when they are being chases by a bear would they take of their shoes in the river. Still, great book.

Fantastic book, my daughter will happily read it and have it read to her over and over and over again (she's 2).
She likes the very last page when the bear is walking away sad.

I am not convinced by the “back to bed” end with a “not again” end.
Our world needs some love for risks and less sofa-people.
Love all the rest!

Funny!
it reminds me one Russian game.
when children walk around a sleeping "bear' and say such kind of words: "in the bear's deep dark wood We're picking berries and mushrooms good, but the bear doesn't sleep but he roars and stomps his feet" the "bear wakes up, all the children run away. that who will be caught, becomes a "bear. )))

Beautiful, but would be lovely if it showed bear walking away during end credits as this image sparks a lot of conversation with young children.
