As much as Ian has chain-smoked all these years , you'ld think he wouldn.t even be able to speak! But here he is - with nothing to hide!! Sounds incredible!! I got to see them live a little over a year ago and they played for about 2 hours or so. He (again)- was great!! Any singer who was big in the 70,s and 80.s, that are still performing, cannot re-create that original sound that once was. Hell- some shouldn't be doing it at all! But I give big props to Ian for still makin' it look easy. Amen.
@bollockface thanks, yeah i looked it up its Em C for the verses then Cm G for the chorus :) btw your youtube name made me laugh haha ace (y) xD cheers.
This is such a moving performance - just voice and acoustic guitar on a sofa - fantastic. How many people could produce this quality with so little technical support. He's amazing. His incredible voice has matured from assertive cocky kid to that of a survivor with a deep understanding of the human condition, who is truly confident enough to share his vulnerability. Dynamite.
Well his voice isn't what it used to be but hey, it's still cool. Yeah well you need to watch it with smoking because it makes your voice deeper, rougher and more adept for rock singing but eventually it catches up and robs you of all the old ability. I am pretty sure Ian enjoy a smoke, as evidenced by his voice.
This is poor I saw the Bunnymen 5 or 6 times (In liverpool) and this is a pale shadow of how great they were. Mac voice has gone , try listening to the cds .
what did you expect? he's 30 years older, literally, so the voice is different, tha attitude too... and the Punk is not what it used to be, anyway, so...
Have to agree with hugs1705. Mac's vocals are poor in this clip. Don't know whether his voice has gone or not though. If you get the chance, check out the Bunnymen DVD of their '83 gig at the Albert Hall in London.
Some say that Ian is getting old, fat and bald but who cares about that talent is timeless. Back in the days he said things about other singers in this respect and now fun of those singers are returning the favour. Anyway, he will always be one of the greatest singer and songwriter of our time.
I don't care how old he is....Ian is one of my favorite singers/songwriters of all time. Any of you guys ever listen to his solo albums? They are all incredible!! But then again, I wouldn't expect anything less from him.....
I'd love to buy this version. Does anyone know where/if it's available for purchase? Mac has done an amazing rendition of it (thx Ian). Makes my spine tingle.
Too cool, and soo underrated. It's such a shame that such a talent get's overlooked with today's CRAP that they try to call "music". Today's technology is ruining music more than making it better. Sgt. Pepper was recorded on a 4 track recording machine without some dumb ass twisting records backwards trying to make it look like an instrument!
amazing! the piano & percussion are a nice touch. I've recently uploaded my cover version of the killing moon. I'm not the great Ian, but if you guys want to check it out, let me know what you think!
