well all this depends on how big the room is that your tv is,

example: if you have a 32 inch tv with 720p from a distance of 2 meters and a tv with 1080p you are going to see the difrance!

and im sitting here writing that in my 9 square meter room with an 1080p 50 inch plasma tv trolololololol!

You don't need to smack your face into the screen, you just need to sit closer to see the difference between 720p and 1080p. In the test they the put them way to far from the screen for the small screens they are using...

Use bigger screens on that distance and you will see the difference easily...

This Is My guess there Is No difference between a 720p television & a 1080p television that a 720p television Is capable of 1080p resolution. Broad cast television Is 720p & DVD Is Not capable past 720p because DVD has been compressed or should I say stripped of Its resolution but when Blu Ray came out with Its non stripped of 1080p resolution then television manufacture relabeled the 720p to 1080p so they could steal more money.

Full HD is important when you consider a big screen and a reasonable distance of observation; these are really small and from that distance the 1080p resolustion just exceeds human eye's resolving precision; they would see the difference if they were about 1 meter from the screen...

1080p high resolution is important for big screens, starting from 42-50 inches and over. On my 42" FullHD plasma DVD quality seems not much worse than 1080p video from distance of ca. 3 meters.

If your using it to play video games 1080p is undoubtedly the better choice. quite honestly I see a huge difference when playing xbox on a 1080p tv vs a 720. Also heres something to think about: on a 720p tv there are 921,600 pixels. On a 1080p there are 2,073,600. I got my 1080p lg for a little more than a 720p sony...
