An Australian bren gun crew got him not Bishop.

Kudos to Bishop for setting up the kill though and for having the balls to tackle the Baron in the first place but the Aussies shot him down.

Bishop gets an assist for the kill in my books but that's all.

I've seen pieces of his plane and one of his boots on display in the Canberra war memorial.

umm the red baron wasnt killed by another ace. he was flying over enemy lines and an enemy pilot was chasing him. He managed to lose the plane chasing him but an enemy gunner on the ground hit him twice and one of the bullets went through his lungs, killing him.

sick music video, but something wrong in ur description. It was Caption Roy  Brown who was thought to have shot him. But im pretty sure he was candian anyway. But there is more evidence pointing to the ground gunner having killed him. It came up though the plane and hit him in the Chest. But there is no complete proof as to who really killed him. Thats bullshit though if he was killed by a ground gunner cause thats no way for a legend like him to be shot down.

@Dunepsycho283 he was killed by a ground gunner they could tell by the angle of the bullet that with the way his last dogfight went (which was close to his death) that the pilot chasing him could not have killed him because he was behind the red baron the entire dogfight and never scored a hit. while the red baron was turning a ground gunner shot him through his lung

ah your history is a little off, a canadian pilot named 'Wop' May shot down the baron, billy bishop is the most decorated allied pilot and has the second greatest number of planes shot down, second to the baron, but otherwise well done!
