  • thank you!

  • Please show examples of lymph brushes and brushing techniques. Thanks.

  • How this gentle brushing can apply enough force to make lymph circulate ? I read that lymphatic circulation is powered by muscle movement. I wonder, how strong this muscle movement must be, how heavy exercises.

  • @maciejwrotek You asked how heavy does the exercise have to be? It does not have to be heavy (as in lifting) or lengthy. For example, isometric exercises will work as well as walking, jumping rope, swimming, doing yoga, mild cardio, etc. If a person is not in the best of health or is older, sitting on a medium to large pilates ball and bouncing up and down will create enough muscle contraction to work the lymphatic system. You don't have to fatigue yourself doing it: 10-30 minutes a day is fine.

  • @sarahgm19 great

  • I got one in the 99p shop. It is wooden and has a really good brush on one side and rubber nodules on the other side... It works really well, the only snag is I get to pee about 6 times in the night instead of 4 during the night!!!!!

  • I have my own Tampico brush and started doing this for myself. I also noticed that my spa offers it for $40-60 and let's you keep the brush too.

  • This is also standard therapy (usually with hands not so much with brushes) for lymphedema occuring as a result of lymphanodectomy (usually for cancer). If the edema is severe, the drainage massage can be followed by compression wrapping. But, yeah, it's effective for moving lymphatic fluid along.

  • crush what? :0 lol you got me with that one :P

  • Thanks for posting this... I just heard about it and wanted more info...!

  • Use bores hair brushes. It almost feels like a salt scrub. Very nice when water is not available. The skin must be dry. It is an ancient techniqe called dry skin brushing. It;s important to remember to clean the brushes after every client with a sanitizer. They take a while to dry so I carry a few in my kit in case I want to offer it as a treat prior to the body work.. For lymphatic massage I will only use my fingers due to the very light pressure required.

  • I actually am very interested in Lymphatic Drainage and have never heard of lymph brushing. I'm going to have to go get a brush and grab someone to be a guinea pig for me. Thanks. :)
