  • I'm from the Tomcat Squadron and this is cool. I got to see this ship while I was in Chicago on a SCS Grayfox cruise in Austust.

  • Hey Felix! Yea someone found the drill IED you put in the engine room...almost gave Mark a heart attack, found it during winter refit back in what 1999? The USCG in Two Rivers found the one you planted in the forward bilge. Not cool! They were not happy until they tested it. This is a good video BTW, have not been underway in a couple years, but glad to see what I helped to restart is still going strong.

    John S. (LCDR, NSCC (ret.)

  • @johnag9d Whoops sorry! but it was fun conducting those drills. I should have had them removed. I told the cadets to hide them well.... guess they did a good job huh? hope your doing well. looK me up in facebook

  • Hey sweet ship. I'm on YP673, the MANATRA's sister ship. Nice to see that yours is still in great condition too. On the Pride of Michigan we do a lot of diving and rescue/safty trainings. What does your division do?

  • I'm going to this training in August...any suggestions or tips?

  • SR Singleton, Liberty (AGTR-5) Division

goin to boot in june then either seamanship or Field Ops (then SWCC if they have it).

For underway Seamanship training, which is better, NSCS Greyfox or the YP shown here?...thanks guys

  • @GoNavy95 YP673, the Pride of Michigan lol

  • I wonder if anyone ever found that IED I put in the engine room that we used for training?

  • the best summer training i have had amazingly fun offices are chill and navy pier is hella fun on liberty

  • I hope these people love Mother Earth =o)

  • I am from Annapolis Division and the new YPs are used to train MIdshipmen at the Academy. So we stay on the YPs every drill. We sleep on them on friday and saturday nights, and we get underway a few times a year

  • DUDE! I was just in Annapolis over the winter for POLA! It's Kolb, do I know you?We stayed on those YPs during POLA. Fyi, the MANATRA is going to get replaced by one of those newer ones by next year. 108ft is so much better than 80ft ;)

  • Ya its McKavitt dude whats up? the red head

  • Oh yeah, sweet man! What's up?

  • @usmcwannabe2016 oh sweet lol. Im from Great Lakes Division on the Pride of Michigan, the MANANTRAs sister ship. We are getting a second YP next year, cant wait to go to sea on it.

  • sweet. so your a sea cadet? nice. I am in NJROTC at my high school currently. (Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corp) just incase u didnt know what it was XD

  • Yep. Sweet! So where do you go to school? Anywhere near Chicago?

  • Nah. I live in washington. U was born near chicago though XD. I plan on joining the air force after school is done

  • WA state or DC? Sweet, congrats on the decision! I myself wish to obtain some college knowledge first with a NROTC scholarship, then go into the Air Wing. So what grade are you in now?

  • The state. i love above ya XD. At first i was deciding to join the navy, but i looked up different stuff, like education, pay roll, jobs, and air force had more to me. i am in 11th grade now and i may be joining next year

  • Ah ok, cool cool. Yeah, that's the thing about the Navy these days, either be totally committed to your enlisted job or you wont like it. Of course the other now famous Navy phrase is "Go officer or go for a hike" lol. I'll be applying for NROTC next year myself. So what field do you want to go into in the AF?

  • aviation technician. i am gonna repair planes and stuff

  • Sweet, sounds pretty cool. I've always wanted to check out a turbine on a test run; that's gotta be awesome, standing next to that much power. Do you live upstate by Seattle, or Whidbey Island? I've been to Seattle before, as well as Navy Prowler Country up at NAS Whidbey Island... Washington is a pretty scenic state. :)

  • I live in port orchard, its across from seattle. Yeah it is pretty scenic XD

  • lolz ur unit is softcore

  • How so? Its not like we are on a coast, so we cant do much in relation to sea training. We focus on PT and Seabee trainings. My CO currently runs the number 3 rated training in the whole nation; Seabee School in Marseilles, IL. We build for a week and then have war games and field training for a week.
