Mt. Kailash is a holy mountain for several religions, because it is almost pyramid shaped with four faces, and four great rivers of the Indian sub-continent flow from its area: Karnali (which feeds the Ganges), Indus, Sutlej, and Brahmapurta. Because of this, it is said that Shiva (a deity, not a god) resides on top of the mountain. In buddhism, it is said that Chakrasamvara lives there. Both deities are the symbol of perfect, non-dual consciousness.

Dawn of Hinduism is NOT the time-period of writing if the Vedas at all, the knowledge imparted by Vishu had passed orally from Generations to Generations till finally it was written down.

Read the vedas carefully and in proper perspective, you would realise the truth.
