  • you know id want one... but im scared the upkeep and maintinance will cost me an arm and leg

  • Why cant they ever get any riders to over view the bike who speak proper English lol?????

  • @Seedcadets

Why should they get someone who speaks proper English when the makers of the bike are Italian? If you really wanted an overview in English i'm sure you can a) keep looking on Youtube, or b) read a review online. The second option would probably be better anyway since it would be more detailed. Stop being lazy, it's not that hard to look up stuff.

  • hp?

  • I wouldn't touch a ducati with a barge pole...

  • i have a 883 harley sportster it was my begining bike now in march im trading it in for this,do you guys think switching from a crusier to this will be too much for my first sportbike? ..power wise

  • @TheSnipingnemo No, if you know how to ride. i say test bike few bikes like this and see which one you feel a connection with. Ducati are nice bikes but i would look at a lot of other things such as reliability. Stay safe bud.

  • @TheSnipingnemo ... back in the day i went from my first bike at 15 being a new 1978 honda 400 twin to a few years without a bike to a nuw suzuki GSXR 1100 HyperSport and i am still here and healthy to tell you about it ... i think the two most important points to share with you are, always remember that you have what can quickly become a metal death trap between your legs ~ not a toy & always use the tool that you have in your helmet ~ happy riding :)

  • I like this better than the 1198

  • My next bike :] not paying $1000 for the red tho. hella crazy!!

  • Is this a good bike for a beginner. I'm thinking of buying 1

  • @Brian192813 NO IT IS NOT. In your mind, sounds and seems easy to just sit on it and ride after taking MSF Course but trust me, i is not. "Yeah, but I'll take it slow" - that's what all people say and then they drop it. Ducs are not like Japs. They have more torque on low rpm so it's easy to make mistake even on low rpm. I started with 696 Monster. For me, that was perfect beginner. Maybe, this is next step. After all, it is your choice. Your life - your own risk., so YOU make the right call.

  • @CveleNis81 Yeah @Brian192813, Not a starter bike.... if you want a good starter bike, look to a Kawasaki Ninja 250R or if you already have a strong riding background then go for a Honda CBR600RR.

  • Actually Ducati has come a long way in dropping the price of their bikes to be more competitive. Kudos to Ducati!!

  • @ballereast Dude instead of checking out the size of other guys dicks, just get on with your own ride , shut your pie hole and listen to Ducatis blast by you

  • @bigfisherie: Gorgeous looks, and no doubt excellent performance. But I have one problem with both of your faves. They are V-Twins. Don't like them at all. I wouldn't buy a Harley or Ducati for that reason. The problem with motorcycles is that test rides are so hard to come by for most potential owners that we tend to stick with what we got or what a friend has or recommends. It's sad, really. Maybe one day I'll change my tune...but for now, I prefer the I3 and I4 configuration.

  • is this bike to big for a beginner please respond.

  • @redbull9295 Yes, The best evolution for a 21+ is like an FZ6, then a 600, then an 848,750 or for the extreme races 1000, 1198. If your a fat ass like 220 lbs u can jump to a 750 or 848, but but a double hand me down cause you will prolly drop it. If your balls to the wall like me start low and end at the 848, if I had a BMW 1000rr I would use every hp till i was dead. either way dont listen to the people who try to boast inside they are scared or just plain dumb.

  • @redbull9295 I ride with a girl who started on this bike; she dropped it a few months ago. She handles the bike very well, but everyone will drop their bike at some point. if you're a bigginner, you're just a bit more likely to drop it. just for the record, I myself have a sv650 (not nearly as good as the 848 hehehe) and I crashed about 2 months ago. But it's my first bike and i love it to death. Now, if you think u can handle it, you can. but be careful cus the odds are against you/

  • @tristantao thanks for your input

  • Some people disdain the things they cannot have.

    Recognise them, then ignore them.

Bikes are not necessarily only about speed, its about how they make you feel.

  • .... the red and white versions are 1000 dollars more?.... I love ducs, but come on, really?

  • Ducati.. Pay More.. Get Less... But Make You Feel Good Because it Hides The Fact That Ur Dick is Small. LOL

  • @ballereast Ducati's are precision Italian motorcycles. Are you sure you have any idea what you're talking about? Nope.

  • @trumpet90909 Precision as in never reliable and always breaks down ???

  • @ballereast Mate I've owned a Monster 600, a Sport 1000 and now an 848 and none of them have ever broken down once. They sound amazing, they handle like nothing else and are as affordable as most Jap bikes these days. Again, what are you talking about?

  • @trumpet90909 they sound like diesel tractors, and all japs can out handle a shitty ducati. they break down all the time, and when they do its gona empty your pockets. what are you talking about ?

  • You don't need to be rich to afford one. My '10 1198 wich had less then 1000 miles on it was bought for around 13k. A new GSX1000/CBR1000/R1/ZX10R is how much?...

  • what's the top speed?

  • i would like an unbiased opinion of this bike. it's a japanese bike versus an italian bike (ducati, aprilia).

WTF is the difference besides where they come from?i'm talking about quality. ducatis just seem overhyped to me - the same way people love Beamers and Mercedez Benz and Audi,

so yeha, japanese bikes vs italian. go.

  • @axellness The difference? The engines for a start. Most jap sport bikes are inline fours, ducs are v-twins, and the big aprilias are V4s. Jap bikes are the best bang for the buck, you go italian and you pay a bit more money for the bike and for parts/maintenance. Ducs used to have reliability issues, but that's been in the past for a while now and aprilia engines are bulletproof. All of them are fun and pretty reliable these days, the italian bikes are sexier but they cost a bit more too.

  • @JACKtheRIPP3R189

is it really bullet proof for the aprilia???

  • @19delta84revolver From everyone I've known who has one yes

  • like comparing a honda to a lambo, you might get lucky and survive with the best of the best! but in the long run, its best to just get what everyone else is getting, a honda! rich people get these and dont care if it breaks down, just get another one! ....lol kawi? honda? yamaha? suzuki? you name it, i would pick any of them four, instead of a ducati, their best line against the big FOUR is that, "oh, you dont want what everyone is having, u want what everyone DONT have...lol" simple eh..

  • @Homiesdie4yo "don't care if it breaks down"

Are you fucking serious? Most serious ducati riders are anal about maintaining and keeping their bikes. Secondly this is about 2 grand more than a stock cbr600rr new, it's not like it's ridiculously expensive.

  • @Homiesdie4yo I think about 1000% of people care when they break down on the side of a road in the middle of nowhere...You act like a Ducati is like 3 times as expensive as a Jap bike. It's more expensive yeah, but its actually on the comparable side now. Not to mention the new Ducs are just as reliable as long as you...take care of em and maintain em. Whats wrong with doing that?

  • How would this compare to an MV AUGUSTA F4R

  • @englandforever96 The MV has more power obviously, it's a literbike.

  • dream bike i only have in my fucken dreams

  • @circababe23

Me too bro, me too... =/

  • @Xettrix still in my dreams. ima chick tho. i should stop spendin money on makeup and cars i hate 6months lata. lol bikes is my new thing.im done with cars i have to soup.ima get a bike like that. 1 day when im sober lol

  • KerryDoan is a ignorant newb! An increase of 6hp in that motorcycle is alot.

  • my graduation present :)

  • I'm the best

  • how much is this bike 8p

  • what does EVO mean ?

  • @EternDemon evolution !

  • @tiromtirom a ok :D

  • This is a dream !

  • The guy on a 00:57 want to promote the bike and he does.t even know what's the model of bike . LoL !

  • @CveleNis81 Dude, Checa rides ducatis for a living, he knows what freakin bike it is! Your probably too dumb to realize his accent is because he's not english.

  • @Elisebibitte I understand your mom french accent without a problem ...

  • @CveleNis81 Omg, ur so dumb.. -__-

  • @bigfisherie I got a gixxer600 (2007) right now...I am so ready to try this 848evo out...looks like an amazing ride

  • rode it..its heavy and sluggish.

    rather have an '11 750.

  • Black is cheaper because it's a matte black or primer if u don't know what matte is.

  • why is black cheaper

  • Awesome vid, maybe you will like this 848 timelapse

  • Can't wait to get one! This bike just destroys the Japs in looks, sound, and awesomeness!

  • God ducati has some of the most amazing bikes out there. Plus they have that deep sounding exhaust that no other competitor can recreate

  • The most beautiful bike I've ever seen.

  • Thing I hate most about Ducs is the people who ride em. I wanted a track bike that gave me lots of feedback and that would be good for improving my riding skills, that's why I bought a Ducati. It's not cause I think it has soul, it's not even because of how it looks (I think the Ninja is more attractive) it is plain and simple because I wanted an extremely uncomfortable track oriented machine that no one in their right mind would use as a daily diver. And that's all they're good for.

  • How Much does The Petrol cost ? XD

  • diže mi se na nju svega mi - trenutno sam pjan :) - pogled u visine

  • how many Ducati's do you think the project manager owns himself

  • Sweet Bike.. love Ducati..

  • Viva ITalia

  • The like bar looks like an Italian flag w/ a lot of green

  • @AppleUnboxingz how the f**k did you think that?great imagination..i'm impressed xD

  • wtf $1000 more for red or white?

  • @toxicblu matte paint jobs are cheaper

  • whats difference between 848 evo and 848 ?

  • such a badass bike

  • Buy yourself a honda they will never let you down

  • hondas are lifeless trash. worst bikes I have ever ridden

  • does anyone know how much the evo costs????

  • @hondaman179 go to ducatiusacom if you are in usa....then go to bikes and you'll find it right there...price and a galery !!! by the way it's like 14 grand not too expensive 4 such a beautiful bike!!!!!.

  • what is the best and worst mileage for the 848 evo.... i tried looking everywhere for it and found nothing... im just asking anyone who knows or has some experience with this beautiful motorcycle.

  • @bigfisherie I see one for sale but what of the maintanence?

  • @3089280288 Maintanace is not so expensive. Just make sure you buy a Ducati that is up to date with its maintanaces and you should b ok. I would recomend taking a Ducati mecanic with you. Offer him a few bucks to go with you to look at the bike you are interested in and he can tell you if the bike is in good condition or not. Then you can deside if you want to invest in the bike if it needs work or just pass on it. Ducati maintanaces are not expensive. Fixing things that are broke ARE expensive

  • man i must admit that ducati motorbikes are gorgeous looking, sound fantastic and go like stink but if truth be told, i don't support ducati's cc system..

in order for ducati to compete in the 600/750cc class, they need at least another 100cc on top... and to compete with the japanese 1000s, they need another 200cc with the 1198... i mean adding 20% more cc's and only managing to be on par with the japanese bikes is in my opinion.... stupid... (thumbs up if u agree)

  • @DKninja09 You have no idea what you're talking about. They're larger displacement in the same class because they're twin engines, this has nothing to do with what you're calling "Ducati's cc system" and everything to do with the fact that they're not inline fours.

  • would this bike be good for a 16 year old? cuz i want one when i turn 16 in september :D but are sport bike insurance rates high for a 16 year old?

  • @IR0NMAIDEN12

Insurance are crazy expensive for new riders just as they are for new drivers. It really depends on your coverage and which company you go with because there are so many insurance companies out there. If you shop around, you will see that for the same coverage, one insurance company will give you a better rate than another. Big companies like Allstate, Progressive, Geico, etc are not usually the best place to look when you first start out despite their ads.

  • @IR0NMAIDEN12 Honestly, I don't think you should be looking at these kinds of bikes if you're just starting. Get something like a 250cc ninja , it won't have enough power to kill you but it'll have enough power to get you started and have fun. Besides, they're much more forgiving when you screw up and since you're starting the hances are quite high. Ride it for a year or so and get used to it. Then buy a new one. And remember, don't be a squid. Use your protective gear.

  • @Whathapenswhenyoudie LAWLLLLL!!!!!! my first bike was a 2006 black 749, it was the best choice i ever made, bikes are only as powerful as you ride them, for the first 3 months i never even got close to red lining, and was usally trying to stay in higher gears so if i did panic and gas it, it wouldnt move as powerful as it could. be gentle with the throttle, be selective of what gears you want, and RIDE! riding is easy, its the other cars on the road that make it dangerous

  • @socal248300 Good for you. Just so you know you could have learned how to control a bike way better if it didn't have that much power. And I have yet to blame any car on the road for making riding dangerous. I'm sorry but it just seems that you are full of crap and bragging how you started with a bike with way too much power for you to control.

  • @Whathapenswhenyoudie "i have yet to blame a car for making riding dangerous" your words not mine. riding is easy, the only part of riding that is difficult is trying to predicts car drivers sporadic movements.. also starting with so much power made me a better rider, i knew how strong this engine was, so i was always had throttle control , instead of just getting a 250 and revn to redline in first. i should clarify though, i did learn the basics on a 250, and after 2 weeks of that i got a 749

  • @Whathapenswhenyoudie and the 250 i learned on had been in the family for about 4 years prior to me riding it, so i guess technically it was my first bke, but at the same time i never really thought of it as 'my first" lol

  • @socal248300 So you did start with a 250. Even though you never thought of it as "your first" and it was just for two weeks it was enough to get the basics. Oh, and I never thought of cars as dangerous because I have been riding bicycles on the street since I was like 9 or so. Being used to always having to ride as if the whole world wanted to kill you and being that young made me great at predicting cars movements, so when I got my first bike (a 71 jawa 250) I never gave it much thought.

  • Wow, that's very cheap... these will cost around USD 40.000 here in Brazil.

  • @feedbackoverflow These will cost around USD 2.000.000.000.000 In Norway -.-

  • @bigfisherie I had both Gixxer 750 and 2009 Duc 848. I totally agree with you that there is nothing like Ducati...that is until I had to repair the engine. Ducati is beautiful, but painfully unreliable. It is presumed that you replace clutch once every 2 years when u own a Duc. But then, if you can bear the cost, there is nothing like it. I am moving on to 1000cc now - hunting around Honda or Kawi.

  • well..... i know my next bike!

  • im assuming the prices are US? how about Canadian prices? lol

  • what he did in the end wasss sikkk lol

  • What's it worth in the city ... or best not bother :)

  • @jenningsbg If you only ride around citycenters, get a bicycle. The clutch it really heavy and you'll have to use it because under 3.000 rmp it stars bucking =P If you'll also plan on having fun rides though, get it! =D

  • i would love ducati if they make inline four cyclinder engine because i always prefer the sound of inline

  • @franian77 Get a japanese.

  • hrmm... nothing beats the 916/996 in my opinion. best designed bike in the world if you ask me...

  • The description says that the 749 and 999 were "aesthetically challenged." HELL NO. Those are the sexiest bikes ever made imo.

  • he said 6 horsepower with so much emphasis lol

  • @KerryDoan thought the same thing... I guess it's pretty much for that construction enthusiast.

  • @KerryDoan Yeah, but 6 hp is a big jump on a machine you can fit between your legs.

  • @KerryDoan 6 horsepower from changing the shape of the throttle bodies is a shit load!

  • @moham7ad LOL

  • @KerryDoan look at the percentage gain

  • @datsun370z It has to do with economics. Ducati thinks that the red and white will be more popular because more people find those colors more appealing than black, and for that reason, people would be willing to pay a higher price for a nicer looking bike, which is why they respond by bumping the price up.

  • That thing is gorgeous. Sign me up asap!

  • i donot see any advantage compare to gsxr (moet beautifull economic and sound awesome

  • @trido1986 A gixxer doesn't look anywhere near as nice as a duc, trying to beat the italians in the style department is pissing into the wind. Secondly a duc is nicer to drive than a gixxer. Sure the gsxr is a great bike, but it's simply not as nice. It may be better value for money but if you can afford to fly first class why sit in coach?

  • @JACKtheRIPP3R189 On so many levels. First you don't DRIVE a motorcycle. Second, styling is subjective. Finally affordability rarely comes into play with a middleweight new purchaser. Used bikes, yes but people choose the class for many reasons. Reliability and abundance of available parts make the DUC the last choice for competitive track riding. If all you do is ride on the street, you would be hard pressed to discern any difference in modern sportbikes (except the sound).

  • I used the word "drive" as opposed to "ride" because all sport bikes ride like a wagon on a cobbled road: stiff. It's driving feel is better than on most of it's competitors.

    "reliability"

The current ducatis don't really want for anything in reliability. Sure they're more expensive to maintain, but they also use more expensive parts that are less available.

    "styling is subjective"

Yeah because everyone thinks that shit one buys at wal-mart looks as good as a tailored suit.

  • so sexy

  • this will maks an awesome elbowdown bike !!!!! for the rich..

  • @truthhunter46 this bike actually isn't priced to bad around same price as some of the 2011 1000s

  • @Killspec your right ,now they have all gone so high it seems good value... if my mrs didnt spend all my money i would get one,,have you ridden one ? is it vibey through the bars ? shattered wrist [woman pulled out in front of me] so maybe need a bit more comfort ,,old git mate!!!

  • @Killspec

This bike doesn't compete with the 1000s it goes against the Japanese 600s

  • @Lbujold5 and some 750's in certain cases..

  • bargain.

  • 14 grand aint that bad...

  • why should it cost more for a different color paint job? does the paint cost $1000 more to make?

  • anyone wanna give me £9,000? :)

  • @AwGsharpie you cant buy that with sims 3 dollors!

  • I like this more than the 1198.

  • Don't like the engine sound so now I won't purchase three of them but only two!

    ;)

    (I'd wish...)

  • is not that expensive... i was expecting something like 18 to 20 thousand...

  • could you start making review on "how livable the bikes are"?

a REALLY small percentage of bike owners go to the track (yes, even the sport lines)....something like 10%

  • @Dafidd there hasn't been a sport bike to date that is amazingly comfortable like a cruiser, or gets the mileage like a moped...but we don't ride sport bikes for that reason...

you don't buy a ducati because its livable

  • @Dafidd they sometimes do, but usually at these releases people want to know the stats of the bike, when the bike is fully reviewed they do street tests.

  • REALLY nice bike

    the price is nice too.

  • this is a beast

  • awesome!!
