Then the war expanded greatly under Johnson so it is obnoxious and ignorant to blame Kennedy for something he didn't start or esculate. "Provocative weakness"? If we had been more aggressive towards SU, then the Cuban Missle Crisis would have been a Cuban Missle Strike. Clearly you don't understand the delicacy of the situation.(side note) Civil Rights was not a disaster for the country

Facts are stubborn. Our first advisors went into Vietnam in 1950. The war started in '59. Kennedy tripled our force there in '61 and again in '62, . After Bay of Pigs, Cuba publicly asked Russia for weapons due to the threat they felt (hence my comment about weakness being provocative - this has been widely commented on by real historians). Finally, my comment about Greenwald wanting to repress speech is because he wants it cancelled, he isn't satisfied to just criticize it.

The problem isn't that the series would make the Kennedy's look bad, expose the truth by all means, but the events in them are not based on facts, they are making things up. As a historian in training i can say that this is dispicable, if there was any evidence for what they are producing I wouldn't have a problem with it. Put this series on Showtime where it is more genre appropriate.

The 'documentaries' on Reagan and Bush both contained historical inaccuracies and unflattering characterizations based on politics, not history. The work stands on its own - let people judge it for themselves. Btw, the conservatives fought, just like Greenwald is doing, against the Reagan documentary in '03. CBS didn't air it as a result but it was shown subsequently on Showtime. My goat is gotten by Greenwald's hypocrisy.
