@Nyarlathoteplol It's an LK, they are supposedly evolved from fungi found in Precursor caches on one planet, however the "fungi like" part is the only thing they have in common with that other fungoid, the Mycon. They just happen to know ABOUT the VUX. And they hiss their s's like snakes...and the rrroll their r's (rrrroll up the rrrrrim to win!)

Actually where the Vux even generally xenophobic? I think they just had it in for humans (and species who looked like them since there was I think some mention of them finding the Androsynth ugly) in the REAL Star Control.

They might not even have been intended to hate ALL species.

They disliked all humanoid races, which included the Syreen, Arilou, and Androsynth I think. I don't know if they mentioned anyone else specifically, but one can guess that while maybe not totally xenophobic, they probably aren't the easiest race to get along with. :O

Yeah, I never imagined them to be friendly. But their hate-on seemed to be for human(oid)s.

In Sc2, The VUX hated the Humans, Androsynth, and Syreen because they thought humanoids were ugly. Plus, humanoids seem to think that VUX are ugly*. The Vux also have a few personality issues stemming from the fact that they refuse to resolve any conflicts. I also got the feeling that they aren't eay to get along with in any case, considering their run-in with the Orz.

*Actually, I've never thought the VUX were that ugly. The Umgah are much more so.

@RRRX18 according to the instructions for both Star Control 1 and 2, it was because the VUX were able to translate stuff quite well, even when the humans assumed they were "off the record"...it was Commander Rand who made the statement "That's the ugliest thing ever"
