Actually, they have the worst steering design in automotive history where the rack is prone to fail and inner tie rod bolts can suddenly snap. There are photos and have been wrecks. Visit dodgechryslersteeringproblems do t co m
As to a 2.7L lasting forever, definately not a typical. Visit dodgechryslerengineproblems do t co m
I've owned two of them a brand new one and a newer one and maintained them beyond the recommended intervals, still were horrible.
great, you have a ticking time bomb for steering, a fragile design that can fail at any time causing loss of control, often without warning. I have photos of bolts that suddenly sheared without warning. I wouldn't take that thing up to high speeds unless you are suicidal.
About the engines, TOYOTA, VW/AUDI AND SAAB ARE ALL STANDING BEHIND THEIR ENGINES AS LONG AS YOU CAN PROVE REGULAR OIL CHANGES. CHRYSLER IS NOT AND THE PROBLEM CONTINUES PAST 2001 DESPITE BANDAID ATTEMPTS. Look at the site.
Look at what site? The site that LIES! Chrysler overhauled the 2.7v6 in 2000 for the 2001m/y! And Chrysler DOES stand behind it if you can prove oil changes (usually at the dealer). The dealer is only pennies more than other places for oil changes. Where do owners of Toyota's and VW's take there vehicles for service? The DEALER! And I will drive my Special M how ever the hell fast as I want. Im not affraid of anything!
hahaha, like I said unless you are suicidal. I guess you are just a straight idiot.
the site that tells the truth, look at autosafety do t or g, even an independent Washington based consumer organization, they have an article all about the 2.7L engines.
Chrysler made changes to the passages, PCV system and other changes BUT THE PROBLEM STILL CONTINUES.
Dealer, DEALER OIL CHANGES ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THEIR EXTENDED WARRANTIES FOR SLUDGE, in fact it violates the Magnuson Moss act.
The "sludge problem" in the 2.7 dosn't continue today! How fucking stupid are you? If it is such a bad engine, then why do they still build it and use it? What now? Lying asshole.
sorry but you have the stupid fucking lying asshole confused with yourself.
I TALK WITH PEOPLE AND SEE THE COMPLAINTS.
It costs money to completely redesign components, engineering costs, tooling, retraining, reprogramming software to work with a different engine. They kept using it because they thought it was fixed and although their bandaid attempts helped, the problems continued.
If you haven't seen the complaints with documented regular oil changes, don't say stupid shit.
if these sites lie so much, why don't you contact Chrysler so they can have them taken down? these sites have been around for a while AND THEY WONT BE ABLE TO BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SLANDEROUS, THEY ARE THE FACTS, IT IS THE TRUTH. Like I said, no matter how hard you try, what you choose to believe or try and say, you cannot change the facts and the truth by wishing it otherwise.
@dcxsucks I agree with you that the 2.7 has a design flaw and Chrysler simply needs to own up to it. Ugrade everyone with the 2.7 in the LH platform the 3.5 and be done with it. They owe it to the people they fucked over. And there are still complaints about these engines checking out early on Charger and 300's equipped with the 2.7 grenade on wheels. I owned 2 2.7 cars and will never look back. The car was ok and got me to point a and b but with too much problems and worries. BTW 3.5 rocks :)
Those cars are AMAZING! They last forever! Neighbors have one, its a 2001 with the 2.7 with over 200,000 miles! Yes a 2.7!

Okay, the 2.7 used in 2001 and NEWER Chryslers are DIFFFERENT! Everybody (VW,Honda,Toyota ect.) all had "sludge prone" engines in the 90's!
I have not had a problem with my Special M yet. Bought it new in 2004. HAPPY AS HELL with it!
