  • pure class..

The group is the best and boy can they take you to church. mr lawson you are the best. i would give any thing or should i say pay any thing to see a live performance. i live in Bmore . please hit me up on my email or how ever you do it to let me know when. i know wifey probably could take care of that 'cause she put me down with you lastest project. lucky woman. i know he sing to you all the time.

  • Class...Class.....Sheer Class!!!

  • Great harmony, love this unique version of the Everly Brothers' song!

  • Beautiful version! :-)) Thanks for posting!

  • Frank Zappa discovered these guys and they recorded their 1st album for his straight Records lable They are fantastic

  • Astounding. Thanks for the post.

  • I just don't think itz very fair he is in the show, "The Sing-0ff" He had his moments of fame and as good as they are, the others in the show are newbies to the business.

  • @anjilyn2 Lawson's participation in the 2nd season was probably honorary, rather than competitive. I wouldn't be surprised if Jerry knew beforehand that he and TOTT weren't to win, same as all the groups, who played along in honor of Jerry. Remember: Jerry isn't getting any younger (he leaned on a cane during the finals), and this is showbizz, That often means illusion sprinkled with glitter.

  • Absolutely unreal. Total legends. Incredible! Rock on, Mr. Lawson . . . I mean, DAMN.

  • WookieCookie:

I worked with these gentleman back in 1972 when their then manager,DaveDashev

was Capitol Records, new A & R man and they got their shot !!!

Loved the guys~my favourite was Jerry Lawson!! Good to see him back at the mike last night on The Sing-OFF!!!!

  • Can you believe that interviewer was a much younger Maury Povich getting his gospel groove on.

  • Is that presenter from a different planet?

  • @DavidMcMeakin He's kinda weird but he is sure enjoying the good stuff and that's what counts ;-)

  • @kawaim0m0 Yep, he certainly seems to be having a good time.

  • They are amazing. They can interpret any song of any genre by any race.

  • OMG so perfect. Snoring, white toes tapping. Full, rich. Thank you for posting this.

  • oh and thas maury............you R not the father!

  • Jimmy Hayes is my brothers uncle

  • dude can't believe his ears. This is just howI was when I first heard them. I was like were are the instruments. This is the 8th wonder of the world. Talented Brothers most definitly. Peace to you all.

  • ONE OF MY FAVORITE GROUPS

  • have you ever heard any harmonizing as perfect as this group. This is so amazing. I listen to the Street Corner Symthony all the time. Know all the words to that album. One of my daddy's favorite, especially Buffalo Soilder and The Man in Me. Thanks for keeping memories alive and the good times rolling. God did wonders with these gentlemen. Thanks to you all, Brothers keep singing alcapella

  • @fairfax17 Yep - I have ever heard harmony "as perfect" - The Temptations, The Miracles - you can hear some of those groups' acapella preformances on You Tube, or on DVD. In fact, it isn't difficult to find "as perfect" harmony in MOST of the early Doo Wop groups; that was their standard, "perfect" five-part harmony. Back then, people got to hear perfect five-part harmony all the time before the greedy record execs killed the whole scene with - "You sing lead. Anybody can sing backup."

  • somebody knows if I'll I have to do is dream was recorded by The Persuasions with a tempo an riddim similar to this one? I'm aware of one record but is slower and not so great as this one here.

  • the album version is in a different key and slightly faster. I much prefer this one.

  • thanks for keeping them alive.. love this group..

  • Grand child of Joe you are truly blessed to have a grand father who has contributed so much phenomenal music to the hearts of people all over the world.

  • I just love this video. A Favorite. 5 stars

  • they still aint got no band.....great singers and top notch gentlemen....cant wait to see them again LIVE

  • This can't help but put a smile on your face!!!

  • A young Maury Povich, long before his famous line, "You are *NOT* the father!".

  • man these guys put a Capella on the map period

  • Wow - I met them when they were in town (DC) for this run at the Cellar Door, and remained friends with the group for about 10 years, until life took us all in different directions. What a rush to watch this video. Very cool. Thanks, Wookie!

  • Zappa?

  • In the boys bathroom during lunchtime in high school for the echo...Pure soul with no other instruments except the human voice..Slammin'!

  • Great band, great video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Great, great video - Thanks for Posting!

I had the pleasure to witness their tremendous talent when The Persuasions opened for Dion 2 Summers ago in Albany, NY. Most youngsters in the crowd hadn't heard of accapella - but they LOVED their performance!

  • Something that don´t happen today ... something made whit the spirit not a soulless machine.

  • everly brothers here's another better rendition of your classic song. thanks so much for the video, i love acapella singing. btw, is the young guy interviewing maury povich? lol the other guy is john gavin from "imitation of life". they felt the spirit too, god bless their souls.

  • Hi! That's my husband Jerry singing the lead! I can't believe this! What memories.. If you love them - check out his new CD!! Just out 2 weeks ago - 20 songs of gorgeous harmony. Just google Jerry Lawson & Talk of The Town - It's the masterpiece of his career!!

  • Loved them for years! Persuasions are one of my best buddy's favorites, so for his 50th b-day bash, I transcribed all 5 parts of "Good Times" (with my own ending!) and me, his brother, and some other musician friends all sang it for him! Too damn fun!

  • The New Cd beats all the rest! Ya gotta hear it & even then yu won't believe it! check it out at my site: google Jerry Lawson -In harmony, Jerry PS - I'd love to hear your version of my "Good Times"
