I was17 once as well. I think. The Pumpkins were the mainstay that kept my head up. Now I am almost 36 and have two boys who are being raised to listen to Corgan's nasal driven self harmonies and his shockingly time tested lyrics. There may not have been a better songwriter in the past 25 years. They influenced so many people and will forever be my favorite band of all time.
Wow, reading these comments, I can see that pumpkin fans are very deep intelligent people. The one beiber comment was marked as spam ^_^. I was just a lil toddler in the 90's. Now I'm home-schooled at 17, this is the most lonesome time of my life. SmashingPumpkins helps me get through it though. Some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.
@TheJetman968 I was your age in 1995, and the Pumpkins meant the same to me, still do. Nice to see the younger generation appreciating such a great band. You'll also find SP fans to be very accepting and non-combative, hence very little squabbling on the Youtube videos....
My best friend put this song on one of my mix CDs he made me. He was gay and I'm married but we were so close. He died on my birthday two years ago. I always felt this song was a message from him to me. Now it just makes me sad. I miss you Kahlil.
1st of March is Justin Bieber's birthday. This little roach has been infecting the whole world. Because of him, the world of rock is extincting.
So on his birthday, we all will go to his "Baby" official video and push the 'dislike' button so that the 'dislike' bar becomes 10 times bigger than the 'like' bar.
If you are a rock fan, join with me and thumbs up me, copy-paste this message to all rock videos. We have six months to unite and fight against this little cockroach
Fuck that, I was a teenager when I heard this first and now I'm 33... trust me, if you were to live the 90s as a teenager, you'd realize how good music was then, and how shit it is now.
When I was younger, back in the 1990's I went through a rough period. I learned alot about love & loss. I thought for a while I wish I could take away & bury all the pain I'd felt. I learned how to be happy when I discovered how much I need my pain. Just like I need my joy, my sorrow, my mourning. It's just as much a part of me as any other aspect of life. It just makes you want to give in. And if you're giving in, you're giving up. This song had any amazing effect on me carrying on.
Gish, SD, MCIS = SP Along with the B-sides.............ADORE, MACHINA = The band that came together after the pumpkins fell apart. This is not pumpkins.......This be garbageeeeeeeeeee

besides crestfallen, rocket, soma, spaceboy, sweet sweet, luna, rhinoceros, snail, window paine - great songs from the past.
compare soma and window paine, i think they're both psychedelic. crestfallen and luna, i would think it's a love song. but this one's a sad song.
