yea iguanas freak out like that if there a bit of a wild one! but i would never grab the tail coz they will let it go then u will b left with a uglyier iguana which will not grow as big as it would hav! wait 4 him 2 b cold then he won't move or freak out!

i was being as gentle as possible, believe me, i could not have been more gentle with it, thats how the guy at the shop said to handle him until he gets tame and gets familiar with us, he was not hurt or anything and he has settled down now so he just crawls on our hands now.
oh, I was just concerned because he went into a crocodile roll. I've never had to grasp my reptiles though and maybe it was warranted in your case. I'm surprised the shop told you that because most people would recommend a more gradual approach. Anyway I'm glad that your pet has calmed down.
